Lava has expanded its affordable smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the Lava Virat V1 5G and Lava Virat V1. Starting at an introductory price of Rs. 8,999, the new smartphones offer large 6.75-inch displays, AI-backed cameras and batteries of up to 6,000mAh, targeting budget-conscious buyers looking for reliable everyday performance.
The smartphones will go on sale from July 31 via Flipkart and Lava’s official website.
Price and availability
The Lava Virat V1 5G is priced at Rs. 12,999, but it will be available for a special launch price of Rs. 11,999 on the first day of sale.
Meanwhile, the Lava Virat V1 4G carries a price tag of Rs. 9,999, with an introductory offer bringing it down to Rs. 8,999 on July 31.
The Virat V1 5G comes in Arya Blue and Sonar Gold, while the Virat V1 4G is available in Nilgiri Blue and Himalayan Silver.
Lava has also confirmed doorstep after-sales service for both smartphones.
Lava Virat V1 5G specifications
The Lava Virat V1 5G runs on Android 16 and features a 6.75-inch HD+ display.
Powering the device is the Unisoc T8200 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Users can expand the RAM virtually by another 4GB, while storage supports expansion of up to 1TB via a microSD card.
For photography, the phone features an AI-backed dual rear camera setup led by a 13MP primary sensor, alongside a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The highlight is its 6,000mAh battery, designed to comfortably last through a full day of heavy usage. The phone also comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.

The 4G version ships with Android 15 and the same 6.75-inch HD+ display.
It is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A processor coupled with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, with support for 4GB virtual RAM and expandable storage up to 1TB.
The camera hardware remains identical to the 5G model, featuring a 13MP AI-backed dual rear camera and a 5MP selfie shooter.
The main difference lies in the battery, with the Virat V1 packing a 5,000mAh unit instead of the larger 6,000mAh battery found on the 5G variant.

With introductory prices starting below Rs. 9,000, Lava is positioning the Virat V1 series against popular budget offerings from Redmi, Poco and Realme.
