Xiaomi has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the launch of the SkyNomad Series in China. Positioned as a family-focused SUV lineup, the new range introduces Xiaomi’s Kunlun architecture, offering a reconfigurable cabin, AI-powered features and an electric-only driving range of up to 505km. The SkyNomad series joins the SU7 sedan and YU7 SUV, marking Xiaomi’s latest step in building a broader electric mobility ecosystem.
Xiaomi SkyNomad price and availability
The new EV lineup includes two models. The Xiaomi SkyNomad N70 Max, a five-seat all-wheel-drive SUV, starts at CNY 259,900 (approximately Rs. 36.75 lakh). The larger SkyNomad N90 Max, which offers a seven-seat layout, is priced from CNY 299,900 (approximately Rs. 42.41 lakh). Customers in China can pre-order either model with a refundable CNY 1,000 deposit. Xiaomi is also offering a complimentary in-car dual-cupholder table for early buyers. The company has not announced any plans to launch the SkyNomad series in India or other global markets.
New Kunlun architecture focuses on space
The SkyNomad Series is the first production vehicle built on Xiaomi’s Kunlun platform. Unlike conventional SUV designs, the architecture features a completely flat floor, longer seat rails and configurable seating layouts. Xiaomi says the cabin can be adapted for daily commuting, family trips, camping or even mobile workspaces.
The N90 Max measures 5,285mm in length and offers luggage capacity of up to 1,831 litres, while the N70 Max measures 4,960mm long. The interior also includes zero-gravity seats, heating, ventilation, massage functions, a sliding centre console with a built-in refrigerator and more than 30 storage compartments.
Up to 505km electric-only range
The SkyNomad Series uses Xiaomi’s Kunlun HyperRange extended-range powertrain. Battery options range from 52kWh to 76kWh. According to Xiaomi, the N70 Max delivers up to 505km of electric-only range under the CLTC testing cycle, while the larger N90 Max offers up to 464km. Both SUVs feature a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system capable of producing up to 310kW of peak power.
AI-powered cabin and assisted driving
Inside, the SkyNomad Series is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-based domain controller. The cabin features a six-screen infotainment setup, 25-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi 7, dual 5G connectivity and a 6.9-inch rear control display.
Xiaomi has integrated its Hyper XiaoAi voice assistant, allowing occupants to switch between 11 seating configurations using voice commands. For driver assistance, the SUVs include a 700 TOPS computing platform, LiDAR, 4D millimetre-wave radar and Xiaomi’s HAD assisted-driving system built on its XLA architecture.
Safety features
The SkyNomad Series uses a steel-aluminium hybrid body reinforced with 2,200MPa ultra-high-strength steel and includes 12 airbags. The SUVs are equipped with Xiaomi’s new Armour Scale Battery, featuring an 18-layer protection system, along with 26 driver-assistance safety features, emergency tailgate release handles and triple-redundant door handles.
With the SkyNomad Series, Xiaomi is broadening its EV ambitions beyond performance-focused models by targeting buyers looking for spacious, technology-packed family SUVs.
