boAt is moving beyond traditional wireless audio with its new CREST AI platform.

Built with Google Gemini, the platform brings conversational AI and voice-led assistance directly to compatible earbuds.

The company is calling this new category “Intelligent Ears”. The idea is simple. Instead of reaching for a smartphone to access AI, users can interact with it through their earbuds.

boAt says the earbuds are designed to listen, understand, converse and assist.

The company has also positioned the experience around a simple principle: no screens, scrolling or apps are required for basic AI interactions.

Crest Ask turns earbuds into AI companions

The first major feature is Crest Ask.

Users can ask questions, explore ideas and learn through natural conversations. They can also ask follow-up questions without repeatedly reaching for their smartphones.

This changes the role of earbuds from passive audio accessories to voice-driven AI interfaces.

For example, users could ask a question while walking or commuting. They can then continue the conversation through the earbuds instead of typing into an AI app.

The feature is built around Google Gemini, which powers the underlying AI experience.

G-Assist connects AI with everyday tasks

The second feature takes the experience beyond conversations.

G-Assist connects with Google services, including Gmail, Tasks and Calendar. This allows users to access certain productivity functions through voice.

boAt says users can ask G-Assist to summarise their day or perform actions such as replying to an email.

This could make earbuds more useful during situations where using a phone is inconvenient.

The feature also shows boAt’s broader ambition for CREST AI. The company is not positioning AI only as a question-and-answer tool. Instead, it wants the technology to interact with everyday digital routines.

Crest Translate supports 25+ languages

Language translation is another major part of the new platform.

Crest Translate offers real-time, two-way translation across more than 25 languages.

The feature is designed to help two people speaking different languages communicate more naturally.

Because the translation experience runs through earbuds, users do not necessarily need to keep looking at a phone during a conversation.

This makes translation one of the more practical use cases for the “Intelligent Ears” concept.

Airdopes Prime 800 D leads the lineup

The boAt Airdopes Prime 800 D is the flagship product for the CREST AI rollout.

Alongside the AI capabilities, the earbuds feature Dolby Audio and 11mm dynamic drivers tuned to boAt Signature Sound.

They offer up to 45 hours of total playback.

The earbuds also support Multipoint Connectivity and feature four microphones with AI-ENx technology.

This combination brings audio, calls and AI assistance together in one product.

CREST AI will also be available on the Airdopes Prime 701 ANC and Nirvana Ion ANC. boAt says this will extend its AI experience across more products in its audio portfolio.

boAt plans to expand its AI ecosystem

The launch is part of boAt’s wider collaboration with Google Cloud.

The company wants CREST AI to become more than a feature inside a few earbuds. It sees the platform as an intelligence layer that could eventually extend across its wider device portfolio.

That could include more contextual and hands-free experiences as additional products arrive.

For now, the company is starting with earbuds. The strategy reflects a broader shift in consumer electronics, where AI is increasingly moving from smartphone apps into everyday hardware.
