Flipkart has introduced Flipkart Pay Later in India, giving shoppers a new way to pay for purchases with flexible repayment options. The new credit service, launched in partnership with PayU Finance, lets customers complete purchases immediately and choose how they want to repay the amount later.

The feature is available across Flipkart, Myntra, and Flipkart Minutes, expanding credit-based shopping across the company’s ecosystem.

Three repayment options for shoppers

Flipkart Pay Later offers customers three repayment choices depending on the value of their purchase and their preferred payment schedule.

The first option, Pay Later, gives users up to 30 days to repay the amount for everyday purchases.

The second option, Pay in 3, splits the purchase amount into three instalments, making it easier to manage larger expenses without paying the full amount upfront.

For higher-value purchases, Flipkart also offers EMI plans ranging from three to 12 months.

EMI available across multiple categories

The EMI option covers products such as smartphones, laptops, home appliances, electronics and furniture.

Customers can also use EMI for smaller purchases across categories including fashion, beauty, home essentials and orders placed through Flipkart Minutes.

According to Flipkart, all repayment options are integrated directly into the checkout process, allowing eligible users to choose the payment method before completing their purchase.

Powered by PayU Finance

Flipkart has partnered with PayU Finance, the NBFC arm of PayU, to power the new Pay Later offering.

The e-commerce platform already supports several payment methods, including UPI, credit and debit cards, wallets, net banking, EMIs, cash on delivery for eligible orders and gift cards.

The addition of Pay Later gives customers another financing option without requiring a credit card at checkout.

Launch comes ahead of Flipkart Freedom Sale

The new service arrives just days before the Flipkart Freedom Sale, which begins on August 8.

Flipkart Plus and Flipkart Black members will receive 24-hour early access starting August 7. The company has also confirmed a 10 percent instant discount on purchases made using SBI credit cards during the sale.

With Flipkart Pay Later, the company is expanding its financial services portfolio while giving shoppers more flexibility to spread payments across different purchase categories.
