Motorola has officially launched the Motorola Signature 27, its latest ultra-premium flagship smartphone. The device brings a new Snapdragon processor, a high-resolution periscope camera and a large battery. It also marks Motorola’s push into a higher price segment, with a starting price of $1,599 (around Rs 1.42 lakh) in the US.
The phone follows the original Motorola Signature, which arrived in India earlier this year. Motorola has confirmed that the Signature 27 will also launch in India in November. However, the company has not announced its India price or exact availability date yet. The phone will initially reach select global markets in two Pantone finishes: Coal Smoke and Capulet Olive.
Motorola Signature 27 price and availability
The Motorola Signature 27 carries a starting price of $1,599 in the US. Pricing varies across international markets, and Motorola has not shared the India price. The company says the phone will roll out to markets worldwide. Its India website has already listed the device and confirmed its November arrival.
The two colour options bring distinct finishes. Pantone Coal Smoke uses a tactical-weave texture, while Pantone Capulet Olive gets a textile-inspired finish. Both options feature the phone’s redesigned camera housing and an aluminium frame.
Motorola Signature 27 specifications and features
The Motorola Signature 27 runs Android 17 and promises seven major OS upgrades, along with seven years of security updates. It features a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo tandem OLED display. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and claims peak brightness of up to 12,000 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 protects the screen.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor powers the phone. The 2nm chipset works with an Adreno 850 GPU. Motorola offers configurations with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, depending on the market. The company has also introduced its ArcticMesh cooling system, which uses diamond-infused thermal material and a larger vapour chamber to manage heat.
Camera hardware is another major highlight. The triple rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel Sony LYTIA 910 primary sensor, a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. The telephoto lens supports up to 100x zoom. A dedicated Event Vision Sensor helps capture fast-moving subjects. The phone can also record videos at up to 8K resolution.
Motorola has partnered with Bang & Olufsen for the phone’s stereo audio experience. The Signature 27 packs a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The device also carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, alongside MIL-STD-810H durability certification.
What the Motorola Signature 27 means for India
The India launch will reveal how Motorola positions the Signature 27 against established premium flagships. Its large battery, long software support and 200-megapixel zoom camera give it a strong specification sheet. However, the final India price will play a major role in its prospects.
Motorola has also confirmed GrapheneOS compatibility for the device. This is different from saying that the phone ships with GrapheneOS. The Signature 27 comes with Android 17, while GrapheneOS support adds a privacy-focused option for users who want it.
