- Mahindra has not confirmed its launch date, pricing or additional equipment.
Mahindra appears readying another special version of its popular SUV. The Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One has surfaced in images from a dealer stockyard. The sighting suggests a launch could be close, although the company has yet to announce a date.
The Edition One seems focused on visual changes rather than a major mechanical update. Here is what the stockyard images reveal, and what remains unconfirmed.
Mahindra Scorpio N Edition One: What looks different?
The most noticeable change appears at the front. The SUV gets a revised grille with broken horizontal chrome slats, replacing the familiar six-slat design. The existing LED projector headlamps, scorpion-shaped LED daytime running lights and LED fog lamps appear to remain.
The side profile looks largely unchanged. It retains the Scorpio N’s boxy shape, 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome window line that curves towards the rear. Edition One badges appear on the front fender and behind the rear quarter glass. Another badge is visible on the vehicle.
The cabin brings a more noticeable change. Images show a dual-tone black-and-maroon theme across the dashboard, door panels and centre armrest. This colour treatment could help the special edition stand apart from the regular SUV.
Mahindra has not revealed whether the Edition One will add new features. Based on the visible details, the edition currently appears to be a cosmetic package. Final equipment may become clear closer to its official launch.
Features and safety equipment
The recently updated Scorpio N already offers a substantial feature list. Depending on the variant, it includes a panoramic sunroof, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other equipment includes dual-zone climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a 12-speaker Sony audio system and a powered driver’s seat.
Its safety package can include a 540-degree camera, six airbags, Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, parking sensors, an electronic parking brake, tyre-pressure monitoring and hill-descent control. Mahindra has not confirmed which variants or features the Edition One will offer.
Engine options and expected price
The current Scorpio N range uses a 2-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The petrol produces 203 PS and up to 380 Nm. The diesel develops up to 175 PS and 400 Nm, depending on the version.
Both engines are offered with a six-speed manual or six-speed torque-converter automatic transmission. Rear-wheel drive is available, while select diesel variants also offer four-wheel drive. Mahindra has not announced any powertrain changes for the Edition One.
The Scorpio N’s current ex-showroom price range is approximately Rs 13.49 lakh to Rs 25.49 lakh. The Edition One could sit within or above this range, but its price is not confirmed. The SUV competes with options such as the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV 7XO, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector, while the Thar Roxx is a related Mahindra alternative.
When could the Scorpio N Edition One launch?
The dealer stockyard sighting points to a possible near-term launch, particularly during the festive season. However, Mahindra has not officially confirmed the Edition One, its launch date, booking details or price. We will have to wait for the company’s announcement to know whether the special edition brings more than its visible cosmetic changes.
Note: Details in this report are based on the dealer stockyard sighting. Features, specifications, availability and pricing may change when Mahindra makes an official announcement.
