News in short

  • Vivo X500 series India launch is confirmed, with the company announcing an upcoming local debut.
  • The lineup is expected to include the Vivo X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max.
  • Vivo will also bring a smartwatch and a telephoto converter kit to India.

Vivo has confirmed that its X500 series smartphones are coming to India. The upcoming lineup will also be accompanied by a smartwatch and a telephoto converter kit, giving the launch a broader focus than smartphones alone.

The company has not revealed an exact India launch date or local prices yet. However, dedicated microsites for the phone series and smartwatch are now live. They confirm that the products will be sold in India through Amazon and Flipkart.

Vivo X500 series India launch confirmed

Vivo announced the India launch in a post on X. The teaser also highlights a telephoto converter kit designed for the upcoming phone lineup. A new smartwatch is expected to join the launch, although the company has not shared its full name or specifications in the India announcement.

The series is expected to include three devices: Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max. The India launch will follow the lineup’s China debut by more than a month and its global launch by several weeks.

The teaser poster features the Vivo X500 Pro Max in an orange finish. It appears to retain the circular rear camera module seen on the global model. The camera system is tuned with Zeiss, while the power and volume buttons sit on the right edge. The poster also shows an additional physical button on the left, though Vivo has not explained its function.

Vivo X500 Pro Max specifications in China

The China variant of the Vivo X500 Pro Max is powered by a flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset. The Vivo X500 Pro uses the same processor, while the standard Vivo X500 is equipped with the Dimensity 9600M. The Pro models use a 2nm manufacturing process, according to the details shared for the Chinese lineup.

The X500 Pro Max features a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.57 aperture, a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.67 aperture.

The phone also packs an 8,000mAh battery in China. Vivo has not confirmed whether the India model will carry identical specifications. Buyers should therefore treat the China specifications as a reference rather than final confirmation for the Indian market.

Vivo Watch GT 2 and telephoto converter kit are also coming

The smartwatch teaser shows a square-shaped dial. Its silhouette appears similar to the Vivo Watch GT 2, which launched in China in October last year. The China model started at CNY 499, roughly Rs. 7,000 at the time of launch. Vivo has not confirmed that the India-bound watch will use the same name, specifications or price.

The telephoto converter kit is another notable addition. Vivo has not shared technical details, compatibility information or a price for the accessory yet. Its inclusion suggests that the company is placing additional emphasis on zoom photography, though the practical benefits will depend on the final hardware and supported phone models.

Vivo X500 series India price and availability

Vivo has yet to announce the India launch date, pricing or complete specifications for the X500 series. The company has also not confirmed the exact availability date for the smartwatch and telephoto converter kit.

The dedicated microsites on Amazon and Flipkart indicate that online buyers will be able to purchase the devices through both platforms. More details are expected closer to the launch, including the India-specific hardware, colour options, offers and sale dates.

For now, the confirmed launch and online availability provide the clearest details for Indian buyers. Vivo’s next announcement should clarify whether the three expected phones will arrive together and how the smartwatch and camera accessory will be positioned in the local market.
