What does OriginOS 7 bring?

OriginOS 7 is based on Android 17 and introduces several changes to Vivo’s software experience. The update focuses on interface design, smoother animations, AI tools and productivity.

For instance, the new Fluid Motion feature is designed to make animations and transitions feel smoother. In addition, Vivo has refreshed the interface with its Origin Design.

The company has also introduced Dynamic Translucent Material. As the name suggests, the feature adds a translucent visual treatment across parts of the interface.

Jovi AI is another major addition. The AI assistant brings new capabilities to compatible Vivo smartphones, although the available features can vary between devices.

New AI and multitasking features

OriginOS 7 also introduces several tools aimed at improving multitasking. One of them is Origin Workbench, which allows users to work with up to five applications simultaneously.

Furthermore, AI Cross-App Drag lets users move text and images between applications more quickly. This could make common tasks easier when working across multiple apps.

Vivo has also added new lock-screen customisation options through the Wiggle and Glint Theme.

Another new feature is AI Pet Pals. It places a virtual pet on the lock screen and allows it to respond to activities such as walking, charging and listening to music.

When will your Vivo phone get OriginOS 7?

The first wave of the rollout begins by the end of October, with the X Fold 5 and X300 series leading the update. Subsequently, the X200 series is scheduled for mid-November.

The December rollout will then cover additional X and V series smartphones. By January, Vivo plans to expand OriginOS 7 to several V, S, T and Y series models.

Finally, the listed rollout will reach its last phase by the end of February 2027. At that point, devices including the Vivo V40e, V30 series, Y400 series, Y31 Pro 5G and T4x 5G are scheduled to receive the update.

However, the schedule represents Vivo’s planned rollout timeline. Actual availability can depend on the device and rollout process.
