Sony has expanded its premium audio portfolio in India with the launch of the 1000X The Collexion wireless headphones and the WF-1000XM6 true wireless earbuds. Introduced globally earlier this year, both products bring upgraded active noise cancellation (ANC), AI-powered calling, Google Gemini integration and improved audio performance to the company’s flagship 1000X lineup.
The new audio devices will go on sale in India starting August 7.
Sony 1000X The Collexion and WF-1000XM6 price in India
The Sony 1000X The Collexion is priced at Rs. 59,990, while the Sony WF-1000XM6 earbuds cost Rs. 29,990. The headphones are available in Black and Platinum, while the earbuds come in Black and Platinum Silver. Both products will be available via Amazon, Flipkart, Sony Centre, ShopAtSC.com, as well as select Croma and Reliance Digital stores from August 7.
Sony 1000X The Collexion features
Launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Sony’s 1000X series, the 1000X The Collexion features redesigned earcups, a wider cushioned headband and weighs around 320g.
The headphones use newly developed 30mm dynamic drivers with a carbon composite diaphragm and are powered by Sony’s HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3 alongside the Integrated Processor V3.
Sony has equipped the headphones with 12 microphones, Adaptive NC Optimiser, Ambient Sound Mode, Wind Noise Reduction and AI-powered voice isolation for clearer calls.
On the audio front, users get Hi-Res Audio, Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Ultimate, 360 Reality Audio, 360 Upmix modes for music, cinema and gaming, along with a 10-band equaliser.
The headphones also support Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity, LDAC, LC3, AAC and SBC codecs. Sony claims the headphones offer up to 24 hours of battery life with ANC enabled and up to 32 hours with ANC turned off.
WF-1000XM6 brings better ANC and AI calling
The Sony WF-1000XM6 succeeds the WF-1000XM5 with improvements to both sound quality and noise cancellation. Sony claims the earbuds deliver up to 25 percent better active noise cancellation than the previous generation.
They feature 8.4mm drivers, the new HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e, an upgraded DAC and amplifier, Adaptive NC Optimiser, Auto Ambient Sound Mode and DSEE Extreme audio enhancement.
For voice calls, Sony combines AI-powered beamforming, multiple microphones and a bone conduction sensor to improve voice clarity in noisy environments.
The earbuds also support Google Gemini integration, Speak-to-Chat, head gesture controls, Bluetooth 5.3, multipoint connectivity and the Sony Sound Connect app.
Battery life is rated at up to eight hours with ANC enabled and 12 hours without ANC. Combined with the charging case, users can expect up to 24 hours of playback, while a five-minute charge delivers up to 50 minutes of listening time.
The WF-1000XM6 earbuds are also IPX4-rated for splash resistance.
AI becomes a bigger part of Sony’s premium audio
With the launch of the 1000X The Collexion and WF-1000XM6, Sony is adding more AI-driven features to its flagship audio products. Beyond improved noise cancellation and audio quality, both devices integrate Google Gemini, adaptive listening modes and intelligent call enhancements, reflecting the growing role of AI in premium personal audio.
