Brighter AMOLED Display With Rugged Design

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 features a 1.52-inch Super AMOLED display with a 498×498-pixel resolution and support for an Always-On Display. Samsung says the display can reach an impressive 5,000 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to view outdoors in direct sunlight. The screen is protected by Sapphire Crystal, while the smartwatch features a 47mm squircle-shaped chassis designed for durability and outdoor use. Samsung has also equipped the wearable with IP69K, 10ATM, EN13319, and MIL-STD-810H certifications, making it resistant to dust, water, pressure, and harsh environmental conditions.

Snapdragon Wear Elite Powers the Smartwatch

Powering the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is Qualcomm’s new penta-core Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. The smartwatch includes 2GB RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, doubling the storage available on many previous Galaxy Watch models. It runs Wear OS 7 with One UI 9 Watch and supports Android smartphones running Android 13 or newer. Samsung says the combination of the new chipset and software improves overall responsiveness while enabling more advanced AI-powered health experiences.

AI-Powered Health Tracking

Health and wellness remain central to the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.

The smartwatch is equipped with Samsung’s BioActive Sensor, which continuously tracks biometric information and delivers personalized wellness recommendations.

Additional onboard sensors include:

Battery and Connectivity

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 with an 800mAh battery, one of the largest batteries in a Galaxy smartwatch. The wearable supports WPC-based wireless charging. Connectivity options include LTE, Bluetooth 6.0, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, and GPS, making the smartwatch suitable for standalone use without a paired smartphone. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 measures 47.4 × 47.1 × 10.7mm and weighs approximately 61.5g.

Why This Matters

The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 represents Samsung’s strongest push yet into the premium rugged smartwatch segment. With Apple, Garmin, and other wearable brands competing aggressively in the premium smartwatch market, Samsung is positioning the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 as more than just a fitness tracker. Its combination of AI-powered health insights, flagship performance, rugged durability, and standalone LTE connectivity makes it a compelling option for athletes, adventurers, and professionals looking for a feature-rich wearable.
