Redmi has expanded its flagship smartphone lineup in China with the launch of the K100 Pro series. The new range includes the Redmi K100 Pro and Redmi K100 Pro Max.
The two smartphones bring several high-end specifications to the series. These include 185Hz AMOLED displays, 200-megapixel cameras and large-capacity batteries.
The Pro Max takes things further with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a 9,070mAh battery. Meanwhile, the standard Pro model gets the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V platform.
Price and availability
The Redmi K100 Pro starts at CNY 3,999, which is roughly Rs. 57,000. This price is for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 16GB + 256GB version costs CNY 4,399, while the 12GB + 512GB model is priced at CNY 4,599. The top-end 16GB + 512GB variant costs CNY 4,999.
Meanwhile, the Redmi K100 Pro Max starts at CNY 4,499, or roughly Rs. 64,000. Its top-end 16GB + 1TB configuration costs CNY 5,999, around Rs. 85,000. Both smartphones are now available in China through Xiaomi’s online store.
The Redmi K100 Pro comes in Black, Cabernet Sauvignon, Fireflies Chasing the Light and White finishes. The Pro Max is offered in Black, Cabernet Sauvignon Red, Chasing the Wind Blue, Flowing Gold and White.
185Hz AMOLED displays are the big highlight
The two models share several display features, although their screen sizes differ. The Redmi K100 Pro has a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED panel. The Pro Max gets a larger 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display.
Both screens support refresh rates of up to 185Hz. They also offer up to 4,800Hz instant touch sampling, which should benefit gaming and other fast interactions.
Furthermore, the displays support up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. They cover the DCI-P3 colour gamut and support HDR10+, HDR Vivid and Dolby Vision.
Both panels also support DC dimming and display up to 68.7 billion colours.
Snapdragon chips power the new flagships
Under the hood, the Redmi K100 Pro uses Qualcomm’s new 3nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V chipset. It has a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. The K100 Pro Max, meanwhile, uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. It also reaches a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz.
Both phones feature Qualcomm’s AI Engine, a dedicated D2 graphics chip and an Adreno GPU. They also offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
The smartphones run Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3, based on Android 16.
200MP cameras and bigger batteries
The Redmi K100 Pro series gets a triple rear camera setup. Both models are led by a 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation. The standard Pro adds a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. It supports up to 60x digital zoom.
The Pro Max upgrades the secondary cameras further. It features a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with up to 100x digital zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Video recording also differs. The Pro supports up to 4K at 60fps, while the Pro Max can record up to 8K at 30fps. Both phones feature 32-megapixel selfie cameras.
Battery capacity is another major difference from many conventional flagship phones. The Redmi K100 Pro packs an 8,580mAh battery, while the Pro Max gets a 9,070mAh cell. Both support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. They also support reverse charging at up to 27W wired and 22.5W wirelessly.
The Redmi K100 Pro measures 157.49×75.25×8.55mm and weighs about 218g. The Pro Max measures 163.49×77.94×8.45mm and weighs around 238g. For now, the Redmi K100 Pro series has been launched in China. The company has not provided details about an India launch.
