Canva Code 2.0 is now available to all Canva users, expanding the company’s AI-powered design platform with website and app creation tools powered by natural language prompts. The latest update introduces “vibe coding,” allowing users to generate, edit, and customize interactive web experiences without writing code manually. The feature is rolling out to Free, Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education accounts.

With this release, Canva is positioning itself as more than a graphic design platform by integrating AI-assisted coding directly into its visual editor.

What is Canva Code 2.0?

Canva Code 2.0 is an AI-powered coding tool that enables users to create websites, web apps, and interactive experiences by describing what they want in plain language.

Instead of writing code from scratch, users can generate projects with text prompts and continue refining them inside Canva’s editor. The feature works directly within existing Canva projects, including presentations, documents, and whiteboards.

Users can either make manual edits or ask Canva AI to modify individual sections using conversational prompts, making website creation more accessible to beginners and professionals alike.

What are the new features?

One of the biggest additions is a library of more than 50 Canva Code templates designed for interactive projects. These templates can be customized using Canva’s stock assets or personal images uploaded by users.

The update also introduces HTML Import, allowing creators to bring projects generated with other AI coding tools into Canva. Once imported, the designs become editable inside Canva’s interface, eliminating the need to rebuild projects from scratch.

Users can also replace images by dragging assets from Canva’s library, change fonts and colors through the toolbar, edit text directly, or select specific elements for AI-assisted refinement.

The goal is to combine AI-generated code with Canva’s visual editing experience in a single workflow.

How does collaboration work?

Canva says Code 2.0 supports real-time collaboration for teams.

Multiple users can simultaneously build, review, and comment on interactive projects, making the feature suitable for marketing teams, educators, designers, and businesses working on shared content.

Completed projects automatically adapt to different screen sizes, helping users optimize websites for desktop and mobile devices without additional adjustments. Before publishing, creators can preview how their projects will appear across different devices.

Publishing and sharing options

Once a project is complete, Canva offers multiple publishing options. Users can publish websites to a free Canva domain, connect their own custom domain, or share projects internally using single sign-on for enterprise environments. These options make Canva Code 2.0 suitable for everything from personal portfolios and event pages to educational resources and business websites.

Why does it matter?

The launch reflects the growing popularity of AI-assisted “vibe coding,” where users describe their ideas in natural language instead of writing complex programming code.

Technology companies are increasingly integrating AI coding assistants into their products, making software development more accessible to people without formal programming experience.

By combining AI-generated code, visual editing, collaborative workflows, and website publishing into a single platform, Canva Code 2.0 expands Canva’s role beyond graphic design and into AI-powered website creation. The update also lowers the barrier to building interactive digital experiences, regardless of technical expertise.
