Info Edge has completed another major step in its education and skilling strategy by approving the acquisition of the remaining stake in Coding Ninjas. Once the transaction closes, the coding education platform will become a wholly owned subsidiary of the Naukri parent company. Beyond ownership, the deal signals Info Edge’s growing focus on AI education, workforce upskilling, and deeper integration between learning and recruitment.

Why is Info Edge acquiring full ownership of Coding Ninjas?

Info Edge’s board has approved the purchase of the remaining 45.36% stake in Sunrise Mentors Private Limited, the company behind Coding Ninjas, from its founders for approximately Rs. 39.91 crore.

The company will acquire 74,741 equity shares at Rs. 5,340.23 per share. The transaction is expected to be completed within 45 days.

As part of the agreement, Info Edge will pay 25% of the total consideration, or around Rs. 9.98 crore, when the share purchase agreement closes. The remaining amount will be paid in three equal installments on March 31, 2027, March 31, 2028, and March 31, 2029.

The founders of Coding Ninjas will also join Info Edge, where they will receive salaries along with performance-linked incentives.

How does this strengthen Info Edge’s AI strategy?

The acquisition is more than a change in ownership. Info Edge says the transaction will create stronger synergies between Naukri and Coding Ninjas while enabling the company to build mini AI learning programs for Naukri users.

As AI skills become increasingly valuable across industries, recruitment platforms are evolving beyond job listings into career development ecosystems. By combining Coding Ninjas’ learning platform with Naukri’s large user base, Info Edge aims to offer learning opportunities that directly align with hiring demand.

Info Edge’s journey with Coding Ninjas

Info Edge first invested in Coding Ninjas in October 2022, when it increased its stake from 26% to 51% through an investment of Rs. 135.4 crore.

Over the following years, the company gradually increased its ownership through additional transactions. The latest acquisition completes that journey, giving Info Edge full control of the edtech platform.

Coding Ninjas now joins several other startups fully owned by Info Edge, including Zwayam, DoSelect, and Highorbit Careers, the parent company of iimjobs and hirist.

How is Coding Ninjas performing?

Founded in 2016, Coding Ninjas focuses on coding education and professional upskilling through online courses.

The company has reported consistent revenue growth over the past three financial years. Revenue increased from Rs. 53.31 crore in FY24 to Rs. 67.15 crore in FY25 before reaching Rs. 97.43 crore in FY26.

However, profitability remains a challenge. Coding Ninjas reported a net loss of Rs. 13.36 crore during FY26, while its net worth stood at negative Rs. 34.98 crore as of March 31, 2026.

What else did Info Edge announce?

Alongside the Coding Ninjas acquisition, Info Edge also approved an additional investment commitment of up to Rs. 180 crore to B8 Fund I, a Category II Alternative Investment Fund managed by its wholly owned subsidiary Smartweb Internet Services.

The new commitment is in addition to the Rs. 250 crore investment approved earlier this year, reflecting the company’s continued focus on investing across India’s startup ecosystem.
