Nothing Phone (4b) Review

Key Highlights

  • Nothing has launched the Phone (4b) in India starting at Rs. 34,999.
  • The smartphone features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, a 6,000mAh battery, and Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16.
  • It also introduces a new “(b)” series while retaining the company’s signature transparent-inspired design and Glyph Bar.

Nothing has expanded its smartphone lineup with the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b), introducing an entirely new “b” series aimed at buyers seeking the brand’s signature design at a more affordable price. While it borrows much of the Phone (4a)’s design language, the new model trims a few specifications to lower the price without sacrificing the features that define the Nothing experience.

The launch also marks the debut of Nothing’s “(b)” branding, which the company says will represent its entry-level smartphone lineup. This raises new questions about how the series will coexist with the existing CMF by Nothing portfolio.

What is new about the Nothing Phone (4b)?

The biggest talking point remains the design. Nothing continues its unconventional approach with a polycarbonate unibody chassis, the recognizable Glyph Bar, and a fresh camera housing that immediately distinguishes the Phone (4b) from other mid-range smartphones.

Instead of using a traditional camera island, Nothing has designed what it describes as a “crystal-clear soft polymer” camera cushion. The raised module blends into the rear panel while protecting the dual cameras, giving the device a distinctive appearance without making the camera bump look oversized.

The phone measures 8.6mm thick, weighs 210g, and comes in Black, White, and Blue color options. It also carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance.

What specifications does the Nothing Phone (4b) offer?

The Nothing Phone (4b) features a 6.77-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2344 × 1080 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness.

Powering the smartphone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB and 256GB of internal storage.

The camera setup includes a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The rear camera also supports 4K video recording at up to 30fps.

Bigger battery, AI features, and long-term software support

One of the biggest upgrades is the battery. The Indian variant of the Nothing Phone (4b) packs a 6,000mAh battery, making it the largest battery ever offered in a Nothing smartphone. It supports 33W wired fast charging, with the company claiming a full charge in around 80 minutes.

The smartphone runs Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16 and includes the company’s Essential AI features, including Essential Voice.

Nothing has also promised three years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates, offering long-term software support that remains competitive in the segment.

Additional features include stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a vapor chamber cooling system designed to improve sustained performance.

Price and availability

The Nothing Phone (4b) starts at Rs. 34,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant, while the 8GB + 256GB model is priced at Rs. 38,999.

With the launch of the Nothing Phone (4b), the company is extending its distinctive hardware philosophy to a wider audience without abandoning the design language that helped build its identity. Combined with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 processor, AI-powered software, a 6,000mAh battery, and long-term software support, the Nothing Phone (4b) aims to strengthen the brand’s position in India’s increasingly competitive mid-range smartphone market.
