Xiaomi has expanded its flagship tablet lineup with the new Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max in China. The tablet stands out for its large high-resolution display and, more importantly, the debut of Xiaomi’s Xring O3 processor in a tablet.
The new model arrives with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 4 and is positioned as a high-end tablet for users who want a large display, strong performance and desktop-style productivity features.
Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max price and variants
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max starts at CNY 4,799, which is approximately Rs. 67,700.

The company is also selling a floating keyboard separately for CNY 1,099, or roughly Rs. 15,500.
13.3-inch 3.4K display with 144Hz refresh rate
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max features a 13.3-inch 3.4K display with a resolution of 3,408 x 2,272 pixels. It uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and supports a 144Hz refresh rate.
The panel can reach up to 1,000 nits of global brightness and has a claimed Delta E colour accuracy rating of around 0.47.
For users who frequently work under bright lighting, Xiaomi also offers a Nano Soft Light Screen option. The company says it is designed to reduce reflections and glare.
Xring O3 chip powers the tablet
One of the biggest highlights is Xiaomi’s new Xring O3 processor. The Pad 9 Pro Max is the company’s first tablet to use the chip.
The processor is built on a 3nm process and features a 10-core CPU with clock speeds reaching up to 4.35GHz. It also includes a four-core Xuanjie NPU for AI workloads.
Xiaomi claims that the CPU and GPU performance of the Xring O3 approaches Apple’s desktop-class M5 platform. That is a company claim, however, and independent testing will be needed to establish how the chip performs in real-world workloads.
The tablet comes with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.
50MP camera and eight-speaker audio
For imaging, the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max gets a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 32-megapixel front camera.
Audio is handled by an eight-speaker setup, backed by six microphones. The tablet supports Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio and noise reduction.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 2. The tablet also supports DP-in through USB Type-C, giving it additional flexibility for external display and productivity use.
12,000mAh battery with 120W charging
Battery life is another major focus. The Pad 9 Pro Max packs a 12,000mAh battery and supports 120W Xiaomi Surge Charge technology.
Despite the large battery and 13.3-inch display, the tablet measures just 5.67mm thick and weighs 645 grams in its standard configuration. It also features a unibody metal construction.
What it means for buyers
The Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max is clearly aimed at the premium tablet segment. Its combination of a large 3:2 display, 144Hz refresh rate, up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage and 120W charging makes it particularly interesting for productivity and entertainment.
The biggest question, however, is the Xring O3. Xiaomi is making ambitious performance claims around its new chip. If independent benchmarks and real-world testing back them up, the Pad 9 Pro Max could become a serious alternative to high-end tablets powered by Apple’s silicon.
