Buying a Pixel has become slightly more complicated this year.

The Google Pixel 11 brings several improvements over the Pixel 10. However, it also starts at a noticeably higher price. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 is now available at a lower price through some retailers.

So, should you spend more on the newer Pixel 11, or save money and pick up the Pixel 10?

After using both phones, I would say the answer depends largely on how much you value the new camera, performance and battery improvements.

The price difference changes the equation

The Pixel 10 costs Rs. 74,999, while some third-party retailers have prices starting around Rs. 66,810 depending on active offers. . The Pixel 11 now starts at Rs. 89,999, making the new model Rs. 10,000 more expensive at launch.

That creates a significant gap between the two phones.

If you are buying purely on value, the discounted Pixel 10 becomes difficult to ignore.

Winner for value: Pixel 10

Design: Pixel 11 feels more polished

Both phones follow Google’s familiar Pixel design language.

The Pixel 10 already offered a compact 6.3-inch form factor, and the Pixel 11 sticks with that size. However, Google has refined the newer phone with a slimmer camera bar and a lighter 197-gram body.

The Pixel 11 also gets a satin-finish aluminium frame, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68 protection. The result is a phone that feels premium without becoming unnecessarily large.

The Pixel 10 remains a good-looking compact flagship, but the Pixel 11 feels like the more polished version.

Winner: Pixel 11

Display: There is little reason to upgrade

This is one area where the Pixel 11 does not make a major leap.

Both phones offer a 6.3-inch Actua OLED display with a 1080×2424 resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. The Pixel 11 can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness, while HDR brightness goes up to 2,000 nits.

The screen looks excellent for everyday use. Scrolling feels smooth, colours are vibrant and outdoor visibility is strong.

Therefore, if you already own a Pixel 10, the display alone is certainly not a reason to upgrade.

Winner: Tie

Performance: Pixel 11 has the advantage

The biggest hardware upgrade comes from Google’s new Tensor G6 processor.

The Pixel 11 pairs it with 12GB RAM and either 256GB or 512GB storage. My review unit came with 256GB.

The phone feels fast in everyday use. Apps open quickly, multitasking remains smooth and gaming is comfortable.

Interestingly, the benchmark results also show a sizeable CPU improvement over the Pixel 10. The Pixel 11 scored 2,302 in Geekbench single-core and 6,926 in multi-core, compared with 1,841 and 5,124 respectively on the Pixel 10.

That said, the Pixel 10 is hardly slow. If you already own one, you won’t suddenly find it unusable because the Pixel 11 is faster.

Cameras: Pixel 11 makes a smart upgrade

This is where the comparison gets more interesting.

Both phones have Google’s familiar triple-camera approach, including a 5x telephoto camera. The Pixel 11, however, benefits from a larger main sensor and improvements from the Tensor G6.

Daylight images look detailed and natural. Dynamic range remains excellent, while portraits maintain good subject separation.

Low-light photography is another strong point. The Pixel 11 handles dark scenes well without pushing brightness too far or making photographs look artificial.

Then there is zoom.

The Pixel 10 offered Super Zoom up to 20x. The Pixel 11 increases this to 30x. At 10x, results remain useful, while 30x can produce surprisingly good images for a compact phone.

If photography is a major reason you are buying a Pixel, I would choose the Pixel 11.

Battery: Pixel 11 has a small but useful edge

The Pixel 10 already offered dependable battery life with its 4,970mAh battery.

The Pixel 11 moves to a 4,985mAh battery, so the capacity increase itself is tiny. The bigger improvement comes from efficiency and charging features.

Google claims more than 30 hours of battery life, while the Pixel 11 supports up to 30W wired charging. It also gets 25W Qi2.2 wireless charging through Pixelsnap.

The Pixel 10 remains perfectly capable for a full day. However, the Pixel 11 offers a more complete charging experience.

Winner: Pixel 11

Pixel 10 vs Pixel 11: Which One Should You Buy?

This is not a straightforward case of newer means better.

The Pixel 11 is undoubtedly the better phone. It brings a newer Tensor G6 processor, improved camera processing, 30x Super Zoom, better wireless charging, more base storage and a more refined design.

However, the Pixel 10 is now the more interesting value proposition.

At Rs. 74,999 on the Google Store and potentially around Rs. 66,810 through retailers, the older Pixel becomes considerably more attractive.

Buy the Pixel 10 if:

• You want a compact Pixel at the lowest possible price.
• You are happy with 256GB storage.
• You don’t need the latest Tensor processor.
• You want excellent cameras without spending close to Rs. 90,000.
• You can find the phone with a strong bank offer or discount.

Buy the Pixel 11 if:

• You want the latest Pixel experience.
• Camera performance and zoom are important to you.
• You want better CPU performance.
• You want 512GB storage as an option.
• You plan to keep the phone for several years.

Our Verdict

For a new buyer, I would choose the Pixel 11 if the price difference is around Rs. 10,000.

The newer processor, improved camera capabilities, better zoom, larger base storage and Pixelsnap charging make the premium easier to justify.

But there is an important exception.

If you find the Pixel 10 around Rs. 65,000-70,000, buy the Pixel 10.

At that price, it becomes one of the more compelling compact flagship options. You still get the Pixel camera experience, 5x telephoto, 120Hz display and Google’s software experience without paying close to Rs. 90,000.

For existing Pixel 10 owners, however, I would not rush to upgrade. The Pixel 11 is better, but the improvements are evolutionary rather than transformational. The Pixel 10 remains a very capable phone.
