Sennheiser has expanded its flagship wireless audio lineup in India with two new headphones. The company has launched the Momentum 5 Wireless and Momentum True Wireless 5.
The over-ear Momentum 5 Wireless and true wireless Momentum True Wireless 5 focus on premium audio, noise cancellation and longer-term usability. A key feature across both models is the user-replaceable battery.
Sennheiser Momentum 5 Series Price in India
The Momentum 5 Wireless is priced at ₹39,990 in India. Meanwhile, the Momentum True Wireless 5 costs ₹29,990.
Both models are currently available for pre-order through Sennheiser’s official website, online platforms and offline retail outlets. Regular sales will begin on October 1. Customers who pre-order can also receive a Sennheiser BTD 600 Bluetooth USB dongle worth ₹5,990, along with additional platform-specific benefits.
The Momentum 5 Wireless and Momentum True Wireless 5 are available in Denim and Lavender. The over-ear model also gets Black, with White and Bronze variants coming soon. The true wireless model is additionally available in Graphite and Cream.
Momentum 5 Wireless Gets 42mm Drivers
The Momentum 5 Wireless features 42mm dynamic drivers inspired by Sennheiser’s HD 600 series. It supports Hi-Res Audio, Snapdragon Sound, aptX Lossless and Dolby Atmos with interactive head tracking.
For noise cancellation, the headphones use an eight-microphone hybrid adaptive ANC system. Sennheiser claims the Momentum 5 Wireless can deliver up to three times stronger midrange noise suppression than the Momentum 4.
The headphones also use four microphones on each side for calls. Beamforming and noise reduction are designed to improve voice clarity, while Bluetooth 5.4 supports several audio codecs, including aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive.
Replaceable Battery Offers Up to 57 Hours
The Momentum 5 Wireless comes with a 700mAh replaceable lithium-ion battery. Sennheiser claims up to 57 hours of playback with ANC enabled.
A 10-minute charge can reportedly provide up to seven hours of playback. The headphones also support firmware updates for their DSP and wireless systems.
The Smart Control Plus app is available on iOS and Android. It offers an eight-band equaliser and sound personalisation features.
Sennheiser has also made the ear pads user-replaceable. The package includes USB-C and 3.5mm audio cables, while the redesigned carrying case is 20% flatter.
Momentum True Wireless 5 Targets Premium TWS Users
The Momentum True Wireless 5 uses Sennheiser’s 7mm TrueResponse dynamic drivers. It supports 24-bit/96kHz audio through aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless.
The earbuds also feature Dolby Atmos with head-tracked spatial audio. Their hybrid adaptive ANC adjusts to surrounding noise and wind, while Natural Transparency lets users hear ambient sounds without removing the earbuds.
For calls, each earbud gets four microphones, including bone-conduction microphones. AI-powered speech extraction and beamforming help reduce background noise.
The earbuds support Bluetooth 6.0 and multipoint connectivity. The Smart Control Plus app adds an eight-band equaliser and sound personalisation options.
Up to 40 Hours With the Charging Case
The Momentum True Wireless 5 offers up to 12 hours of playback with ANC turned off, according to Sennheiser. With ANC enabled, the company claims up to six hours of battery life.
The charging case extends total playback to up to 40 hours. Both the earbuds and case use replaceable lithium-ion batteries, while the case supports USB-C and Qi wireless charging. An eight-minute charge can provide up to one hour of music playback, according to Sennheiser.
Compact Design With IP54 Protection
The Momentum True Wireless 5 gets a fin-free aerodynamic design. Each earbud weighs 7g, while an IP54 rating provides resistance against dust and splashes.
The charging case has also been redesigned with a narrower profile. Sennheiser includes XS, S, M and L silicone ear adapters in the box, along with a battery replacement tool.
The replaceable battery system is one of the most notable features across the new Momentum 5 lineup. Along with premium audio, adaptive ANC and spatial audio, it gives users a way to replace the batteries instead of treating battery degradation as the end of the product’s usable life.
