Poco has expanded its flagship smartphone lineup with the launch of the Poco F9 Ultra and Poco F9 Pro in select global markets. The two phones focus on performance, fast displays, cameras and large batteries.

Both models feature a 200-megapixel primary rear camera and AMOLED displays with refresh rates of up to 185Hz. They also run Xiaomi’s Android 16-based HyperOS 3.

The Poco F9 Ultra targets users who want the most powerful hardware in the series. Meanwhile, the F9 Pro offers similar flagship features in a slightly more compact package.

Poco F9 Ultra and F9 Pro Price

The Poco F9 Ultra starts at $799, approximately Rs. 76,000, for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.

The 16GB + 1TB version costs $949, around Rs. 90,000. Another top-end configuration with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is listed at $1,199, approximately Rs. 1,14,000.

The Poco F9 Pro starts at $699, around Rs. 66,000, for the 12GB + 256GB model. Its 12GB + 512GB variant costs $769, roughly Rs. 73,000.

The phones will go on sale in select global markets through the Xiaomi online store. The F9 Ultra comes in Black and Dark Cherry, while the F9 Pro comes in Aurora Green, Black and White.

185Hz AMOLED Displays Focus on Smooth Gaming

The Poco F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,200×2,608 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 185Hz and peak brightness of up to 2,200 nits.

The display also offers a 480Hz touch sampling rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and support for 68 billion colours. Poco has added Wet Touch Display 2.0 and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The F9 Pro gets a slightly smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 1,156×2,510-pixel resolution. It retains the same 185Hz refresh rate and other key display features.

Both phones carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

Snapdragon Chips Power the F9 Series

The Poco F9 Ultra uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The processor reaches a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. The F9 Pro gets the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V, which also reaches 4.6GHz. Both phones pair their processors with the VisionBoost D8 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This combination makes the F9 series particularly focused on users who want high-end performance for gaming and demanding applications.

200MP Camera Leads the Photography Setup

Poco has equipped both phones with a 200-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation. The camera system also includes a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. However, the ultrawide cameras differ between the two models. The F9 Ultra gets a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera, while the F9 Pro uses an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera. Both smartphones feature a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. For video recording, the Ultra can capture footage at up to 8K at 30fps. The Pro supports recording at up to 4K at 60fps.

The Ultra Gets a Bigger 8,050mAh Battery

Battery capacity is another major difference between the two models.

The Poco F9 Ultra packs an 8,050mAh battery, while the F9 Pro carries a 6,330mAh cell.

Both phones support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. They also support wired and wireless reverse charging, allowing users to use the phones as power sources for compatible devices.

Both models include an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock for security.

Poco F9 Ultra vs F9 Pro: What’s Different?

The two phones share several key features, but the Ultra pushes the hardware further.
