OnePlus has officially started teasing its next flagship smartphone in China. The company has revealed an important display detail ahead of the launch.

The upgrade could make the phone particularly interesting for gamers and users who prefer smoother scrolling. It also marks a notable jump from the 165Hz panel reportedly seen in earlier OnePlus 16 leaks.

ColorOS 17 and Android 17 Confirmed

OnePlus has also confirmed the software powering the upcoming smartphone.

If accurate, the OnePlus 16 would actually charge more slowly than the OnePlus 15. The previous-generation model supports 120W wired charging and up to 50W wireless charging.

Therefore, OnePlus could be making a trade-off between charging speed and battery capacity with its next flagship.

200MP Camera and 6.78-Inch Display Tipped

The OnePlus 16 could also bring significant camera and display upgrades.

Recent leaks suggest that the phone will feature a 6.78-inch custom BOE Oriental Screen 4.0 display. The panel is reportedly expected to use X4 luminescent material.

The combination of a high-refresh-rate display, large battery and flagship chipset could also make gaming a key use case.
