News in short

  • Nothing plans to launch more than twice as many smartphones in 2027 as it did in 2026.
  • The company launched three phones in 2026: Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro and Phone (4b).
  • The announcement was made by Nothing India President Akis Evangelidis.
  • Nothing will host a Co-Creation Program in Delhi, offering community members an early look at upcoming devices.
  • The company has not revealed the names or launch dates of its 2027 smartphones.

Nothing is preparing for a much busier smartphone launch calendar in 2027. The company has announced plans to launch more than twice as many smartphones next year compared to 2026.

The announcement comes after a relatively quiet year for the brand. Nothing launched three smartphones in India during 2026: the Nothing Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro and Phone (4b).

Based on that launch count, the company could introduce more than six smartphones in 2027. However, Nothing has not revealed the exact number, device names or launch timelines.

Nothing India Co-Founder and President Akis Evangelidis shared the roadmap on Friday through a post on X. The announcement also highlighted the company’s upcoming Co-Creation Program in Delhi.

An early look at its 2027 smartphones

Nothing will soon host its Co-Creation Program at the company’s India headquarters in Delhi. The event will give selected community members an exclusive preview of devices planned for 2027.

The initiative will also allow participants to share feedback on upcoming products. Nothing says interested community members can apply through its Nothing Community website. However, available spots are limited.

The programme gives the company an opportunity to involve its community before products reach the market. It also offers enthusiasts an early glimpse of Nothing’s next smartphone lineup.

The company has not clarified whether the preview will include finished products or early-stage designs. It has also not disclosed which upcoming devices will feature at the event.

Why Nothing skipped its flagship smartphone in 2026

The expanded 2027 roadmap follows a year of strategic restraint for Nothing. Earlier in 2026, founder and CEO Carl Pei confirmed that the company would not launch a flagship smartphone during the year.

Nothing attributed the decision to rising component costs, particularly for RAM and storage chips. Increasing memory costs have put pressure on smartphone manufacturing expenses.

The company’s flagship Phone (3) therefore remained its top-tier smartphone during 2026. Instead, Nothing focused on its Phone (4a) series and introduced the more affordable Phone (4b) in July.

The Phone (4b) arrived in India with a starting price of ₹29,999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The company also expanded its audio portfolio during the year.

Interestingly, Nothing’s sub-brand CMF did not launch a smartphone in 2026. This means the upcoming roadmap could bring renewed activity across the broader Nothing ecosystem, although the company has not confirmed CMF’s 2027 plans.

What could 2027 smartphone lineup look like?

Nothing’s announcement points towards a significantly larger product portfolio next year. However, it does not confirm whether the company will bring back a flagship smartphone or introduce additional affordable models.

A larger lineup could give Nothing more opportunities to compete across different price segments. It could also help the company reach consumers looking for different combinations of design, performance and software experiences.

The key question is whether Nothing will use 2027 to return to its flagship strategy or focus on expanding its mid-range and affordable offerings.

For now, the company has confirmed only its intention to more than double smartphone launches. More details could emerge through the upcoming Delhi Co-Creation Program.

After a year without a new flagship, Nothing appears ready to make 2027 a much bigger year for its smartphone business. The devices themselves, however, remain under wraps.
