Bose is returning to the wired earbud market with its new Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds.
Priced at $99, the new earbuds combine a USB-C wired connection with Bose’s noise cancellation technology.
The launch comes as wired audio sees renewed interest among consumers looking for a simpler listening experience. Bose is also positioning the earbuds around convenience, since they do not require Bluetooth pairing or an internal battery.
The earbuds draw power directly from the connected device.
Bose says the new model will work with compatible USB-C phones, tablets and computers. The company has not announced India pricing or availability in the supplied announcement.
No Bluetooth or Charging Required
The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds are designed around a plug-and-play experience.
Users can connect them directly to a compatible USB-C device without pairing them through Bluetooth. There is also no battery that needs to be charged.
Bose uses its SoundDesign digital signal processing technology for audio processing. The earbuds also support lossless audio listening through the USB Audio Class 2 protocol.
The earbuds can accept source input at different sample and bit rates. Playback output is fixed at 24-bit/48kHz.
The wired connection also enables low-latency audio. Bose says this can help keep sound synchronised during video playback, gaming and content creation.
Bose QuietControl Adds Noise Cancellation
The main feature is Bose’s QuietControl noise cancellation technology.
The earbuds use four microphones, with two positioned on each earbud. They continuously monitor surrounding sound and work to reduce unwanted noise.
Users can switch between three listening modes.
Quiet Mode focuses on reducing external distractions. Aware Mode allows surrounding sounds through, while ANC Off Mode provides standard wired listening without active noise cancellation.
An in-line remote provides physical buttons for volume, playback, calls and switching between noise cancellation modes.
The remote also has a dedicated microphone for voice calls. Bose says its design helps reduce unwanted noise caused by contact with clothing.
Wired Earbuds Get a Modern Design
The Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds feature a 4.2-foot cable and come with multiple fitting options.
The box includes small, medium and large silicone ear tips. Medium and large stability wings are also included, allowing users to adjust the fit.
Bose has also given the earbuds a more expressive colour design.
The Black version features blue accents, while White Smoke comes with lime green detailing. A limited-edition Dewdrop Mint version adds a 1990s-inspired colour scheme.
The earbuds also carry an IPX4 water-resistance rating and come with a zippered carry case.
