Kawasaki has unveiled the 2027 KLE650, a new middleweight adventure motorcycle positioned above the KLE500 in its lineup. The bike will be offered in Standard and SE versions, with a larger engine and updated equipment.

The KLE650 shares its high-tensile steel trellis frame with the KLE500. However, it gets a 649cc engine and larger body panels. Kawasaki has not confirmed whether the motorcycle will be launched in India.

Kawasaki KLE650: Engine and performance

The 2027 Kawasaki KLE650 uses a new-generation, liquid-cooled, 649cc parallel-twin engine. It produces 70PS at 8,600rpm and 64Nm of torque at 7,500rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and an assist-and-slipper clutch. This setup is intended to support smoother gear shifts and help manage rear-wheel behaviour during downshifts.

The KLE650 sits above the KLE500 in Kawasaki’s adventure motorcycle range. Its larger engine is one of the key differences between the two models.

Suspension, wheels and off-road hardware

The KLE650 rides on a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Both are spoke wheels, while the Standard version uses tube-type tyres.

The SE variant gets tubeless tyres, offering a different setup from the Standard model.

Suspension includes a 43mm upside-down front fork with 210mm of travel. At the rear, the motorcycle gets a preload-adjustable monoshock with 195.6mm of travel.

Kawasaki has retained the high-tensile steel trellis frame also used by the KLE500. The combination of long-travel suspension and a 21-inch front wheel gives the KLE650 an adventure-focused hardware package.

Kawasaki KLE650 features: Standard vs SE

Both versions come with traction control and electronic cruise control. The SE variant adds several convenience and equipment upgrades.

It gets a quickshifter for clutchless gear changes, a TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and a USB Type-C power outlet. The SE also features handguards and a larger windshield.

The Standard version is available in Metallic Matte Graphensteel Grey. The SE offers two colour options: Pearl Storm Grey and Pearl Blizzard White.

Kawasaki KLE650 availability and price

The new Kawasaki KLE650 has arrived in the UK, where prices range from £7,499 to £8,899. These prices are equivalent to approximately Rs 9.52 lakh and Rs 11.29 lakh, respectively.

The motorcycle is scheduled to go on sale in the UK from April 2027. Kawasaki has not announced an India launch or confirmed local pricing.

For now, the KLE650 remains an international unveiling rather than a confirmed India-bound model. Its potential arrival could add another option to the middleweight adventure segment, but Indian buyers will have to wait for an official announcement.
