Plaud Doubles Down on AI Notetaking With a Smarter Pin and a Desktop App for Meetings

Key Highlights:

  • Plaud launches the new Plaud NotePin S with a physical recording button
  • Apple Find My support added for easier tracking
  • New desktop app targets digital meetings across platforms
  • AI structures audio into clear, searchable note

Hardware maker Plaud has announced two major additions to its AI notetaking ecosystem ahead of CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The company has launched the Plaud NotePin S, a wearable AI notetaker, along with a new desktop meeting notetaker app designed for digital meetings.

Together, these launches signal Plaud’s push beyond in-person conversations into the crowded world of AI-powered meeting notes.

Plaud NotePin S Brings More Control to Wearable Notes

The Plaud NotePin S builds on the company’s original pin-style recorder launched in 2024. This new version adds a physical button that allows users to start and stop recordings instantly. During a session, users can tap the button to highlight key moments for easy reference later.

The $179 device ships with multiple wearing options. Users get a clip, lanyard, magnetic pin, and wristband in the box. This flexibility makes the device easy to carry throughout the day.

Plaud has also added Apple Find My support, making it easier to locate the pin if it goes missing.

Familiar Hardware, Focused Use Case

The core hardware remains unchanged. The device includes 64GB of onboard storage and supports up to 20 hours of continuous recording. Two MEMS microphones capture audio clearly within a 9.8-foot range.

Users receive 300 minutes of free transcription each month. Compared to the larger Note Pro, the NotePin S offers lower battery life and shorter recording range. However, its compact size makes it better suited for users who are always on the move.

Plaud positions the device as a lightweight solution for quick, real-world conversations.

New Desktop App Takes On AI Meeting Tools

Plaud is also entering the digital meeting space with a desktop notetaker app for Mac. The app detects active meetings and prompts users to capture audio automatically.

It records system audio and then uses AI to structure conversations into readable notes. Users can also add typed text and images, bringing Plaud’s multimodal note-taking features to the desktop.

With this move, Plaud aims to compete with tools like Granola, Fathom, and Fireflies.

A Growing AI Hardware Player

This marks Plaud’s fourth device so far. The company says it has sold over 1.5 million devices globally. With its latest launches, Plaud is clearly expanding from physical meetings to digital workspaces.
