Vivo is revealing more details about its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Vivo X500 Pro Max, ahead of its official launch. The company has now confirmed several details about the phone’s display, with improvements focused on motion clarity, colour accuracy and power efficiency.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max will feature a 6.85-inch BOE Q11 2K Zeiss Master Color display, which Vivo claims will be the world’s first smartphone display of its kind. The company is also positioning the panel as a major upgrade over its previous-generation technology.
Vivo X500 Pro Max Display Promises 93% Less Motion Blur
According to Vivo Product Manager Han Boxiao, the X500 Pro Max will use upgraded Q11 BOE luminescent material. One of the key improvements is claimed to be scrolling performance, with Vivo saying the new display can reduce motion blur by 93% compared with the previous-generation panel.
For users, this should translate into clearer motion while scrolling through apps and webpages, as well as during fast-moving content.
Vivo is also using chip-level Demura technology alongside its own pixel-level compensation algorithm. The company claims these technologies improve colour uniformity by 43% compared with previous models.
Brightness uniformity is said to have improved by 22%, with Vivo positioning the resulting display as offering a more consistent, cinematic colour experience.
2K Resolution Without Higher Power Consumption
The X500 Pro Max’s display is also designed to address one of the usual trade-offs of higher-resolution panels: power consumption.
Despite moving to 2K resolution, Vivo claims the new display consumes 21% less power than the previous-generation 1.5K screen. The company also says the display’s lifespan has doubled.
This could make the higher-resolution panel less demanding on the battery while still delivering sharper visuals.
New Sensor for Automatic Brightness
Another notable addition is an under-display multispectral sensor designed to improve automatic brightness adjustment.
The sensor can reportedly distinguish between different light spectra and colour temperatures. Vivo claims it can achieve a 98% matching rate with human vision, while brightness adjustment can be made with a precision of 0.3 lux.
In practical use, this could allow the phone to respond more accurately to different lighting conditions instead of simply increasing or decreasing brightness based on ambient light levels.
More Vivo X500 Pro Max Details Confirmed
The Vivo X500 Pro Max is also confirmed to run Origin OS 7. The company has previously teased a 200-megapixel Zeiss APO super telephoto camera and a 2nm MediaTek Dimensity chipset for the flagship.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max will launch alongside the Vivo X500 Pro, although the company has not yet announced the complete launch details. More information is expected to be revealed ahead of the official announcement.
