Oppo has announced the rollout of ColorOS 17 for its F35 series in India. The update is based on Android 17 and brings system-level changes, performance improvements and new artificial intelligence features.
The Oppo F35 Pro and F35 launched in India last month with ColorOS 16.5, based on Android 16. The latest update introduces fluid animations and Oppo’s Laminar Flow Engine, which aims to improve app launch stability.
Oppo says the update is now available for the F35 Pro. The company has not specified a complete rollout schedule for all eligible devices.
ColorOS 17 promises smoother performance
ColorOS 17 includes the Laminar Flow Engine, which Oppo says can improve app launch stability by up to 55 percent. The company also claims Gallery thumbnails load up to 50 percent faster on their first launch compared with ColorOS 16.
These figures come from Oppo. The supplied announcement does not include independent benchmark results.
The update also introduces ColorOS Smoothness Boost, which Oppo says is exclusive to its F series. The feature is designed to maintain responsiveness during extended tasks.
This includes switching between apps, browsing content and multitasking. The goal is to keep the interface responsive during longer sessions.
ColorOS 17 also brings updated system animations. Together, these changes are intended to make everyday interactions feel smoother.
AI Call Guard adds fraud alerts
The latest software adds AI Call Guard, a feature designed to alert users to potential fraud during calls and video interactions.
Oppo says the tool can identify potential scams involving synthetic voices and AI-manipulated faces. The feature aims to give users an additional warning when they encounter suspicious interactions.
The update also includes Private Computing Cloud (PCC) for data protection. Oppo has not detailed the full scope of PCC’s operation in the supplied announcement.
ColorOS 17 first arrived in India with the Find X10 series, which launched with the software pre-installed. Oppo introduced ColorOS in the country last month.
