Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 5G in India, bringing one of the biggest batteries in the segment. Starting at Rs. 27,999, the smartphone packs an 8,000mAh battery, a 120Hz AMOLED display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. The handset will go on sale from August 12 via Amazon and Xiaomi’s online store.
Redmi Note 17 5G price in India
The Redmi Note 17 5G starts at Rs. 27,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant. Meanwhile, the 8GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 30,999. Buyers can also avail of an instant discount of Rs. 3,000 using SBI, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank credit cards.
The smartphone will be available in Arctic Blue, Dark Night and Starlight Purple colour options. Sales begin on August 12 through Amazon and Xiaomi’s official online store.
Massive battery takes centre stage
The biggest highlight of the Redmi Note 17 5G is its 8,000mAh battery. Xiaomi claims it can deliver up to 2.5 days of battery life on a single charge.
The phone supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. According to Xiaomi, users can expect up to 28.29 hours of YouTube playback, 24.14 hours of WhatsApp usage, over 10 hours of Google Maps navigation or nearly 14 hours of BGMI gameplay.
Snapdragon chip with HyperOS 3
The Redmi Note 17 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.
The smartphone runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. Xiaomi has promised four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates.
To keep temperatures under control, the phone features a vapour chamber cooling system with a 10,416 sq mm graphite heat dissipation area.
Display and cameras
The smartphone sports a 6.9-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,800 nits peak brightness and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. It also supports HydroTouch 2.0 for improved touch response with wet hands.
For photography, the Redmi Note 17 5G features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera alongside a secondary sensor. On the front, it houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.
The handset also comes with an IP65-rated dust and water-resistant design.
