The Galaxy Z Fold 8 focuses on making foldables more practical for everyday use while introducing new tools aimed at creators, multitaskers, and productivity users.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Price and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at $1,900 (approximately Rs. 1.64 lakh) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.

Samsung has not yet announced India pricing or availability.

Lighter Design With New Flex Titanium Technology

Samsung says the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been redesigned to feel more natural whether users are interacting with the cover screen or the larger foldable display.

The smartphone introduces Flex Titanium, which combines a titanium-alloy film with a titanium support plate. According to Samsung, the new structure improves durability while allowing the device to become thinner and making the hinge smoother to open and close.

Weighing 201g, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the lightest Galaxy Z Fold device Samsung has launched.

The phone also features Advanced Armour Aluminium, Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on the cover display, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear, and an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance.

AMOLED Displays With Up to 3,000 Nits Brightness

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 sports a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X inner display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

On the outside, the handset features a 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a 10:16 aspect ratio and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, making it easier to use the phone without unfolding it.

Samsung says the wider inner display offers a more immersive experience for reading, gaming, and watching videos.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Powers the Foldable

Powering the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor. The chipset is paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The smartphone ships with Android 17-based One UI 9, bringing Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI experiences and productivity enhancements.

Dual 50MP Cameras and New Creator Tools

Unlike the Ultra model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a dual 50MP rear camera setup. It also includes 10MP selfie cameras on both the cover display and the inner display and supports 8K video recording at 30fps. Samsung has introduced two new features aimed at content creators.

Dual Recording allows users to record video using both sides of the foldable while previewing themselves on the cover display. Meanwhile, My FanCam automatically tracks a selected subject and intelligently adjusts framing for different aspect ratios, reducing the need for manual editing before uploading videos.

Battery and Connectivity

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 packs a 4,800mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. When unfolded, the smartphone measures 4.5mm thick, while the folded profile measures 9.7mm, highlighting Samsung’s continued efforts to make foldables thinner and easier to carry.

Why This Matters

With the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung is focusing on refining the foldable experience rather than radically redesigning it. The lighter body, stronger Flex Titanium construction, flagship Snapdragon processor, and creator-focused software enhancements make the device more practical for everyday users while reinforcing Samsung’s leadership in the premium foldable segment.

As foldable smartphones become increasingly mainstream, manufacturers are shifting attention toward usability, durability, and AI-powered features instead of simply larger displays. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 reflects that evolution, offering a balance of portability, performance, and productivity for users looking beyond traditional flagship smartphones.
