Vivo X Fold 6 is now official in China, bringing one of the biggest upgrades seen in a foldable smartphone this year. The latest book-style foldable combines a larger battery, flagship-grade cameras, a new MediaTek chipset, and premium displays in an attempt to redefine what users should expect from premium foldable devices.

The Vivo X Fold 6 starts at CNY 7,999 (roughly Rs. 1.11 lakh) and will go on sale in China from July 1. The smartphone is available in Blue Hole, Polar Night, and Salt Lake color options.

What makes the Vivo X Fold 6 different?

The Vivo X Fold 6 focuses on solving one of the biggest concerns surrounding foldable phones — battery life. Vivo has packed a 7,000mAh battery into the device, making it one of the largest batteries currently available in a premium foldable smartphone.

The phone also supports 80W wired fast charging, allowing users to recharge quickly without sacrificing battery capacity. Combined with efficient hardware, the larger battery could help users comfortably get through a full day of multitasking, gaming, streaming, and productivity.

Another standout upgrade is the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super processor. Built on a 3nm process, the chipset features one prime core clocked at up to 4.21GHz, three performance cores, and four efficiency cores. Vivo pairs it with up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.

How good are the displays?

The new fold features an 8.02-inch AMOLED foldable display built using Samsung’s M14 luminescent material. The screen delivers a resolution of 2504×2312 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and full DCI-P3 color coverage.

On the outside, the phone carries a 6.51-inch AMOLED cover display with the same 120Hz refresh rate and similar premium specifications. Both screens support 1.07 billion colors and offer responsive touch performance.

Vivo also claims IP58 and IP59 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding another layer of durability for everyday use.

What camera setup does the Vivo X Fold 6 offer?

Photography remains one of the biggest highlights.

The phone features a Zeiss-branded triple rear camera system led by a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera capable of delivering up to 100x digital zoom.

For selfies and video calls, Vivo includes two separate 20MP front-facing cameras — one on the foldable display and another on the cover screen. The smartphone also supports video recording at up to 8K resolution.

The combination of high-resolution sensors and Zeiss optics positions the Vivo X Fold 6 among the most camera-focused foldable smartphones currently available.

Vivo X Fold 6 price and storage options

Vivo has introduced multiple storage configurations to cater to different users.

The base model offers 12GB RAM and 256GB storage for CNY 7,999. The 12GB + 512GB version costs CNY 8,999, while the 16GB + 512GB variant is priced at CNY 9,999.

Users looking for maximum storage can opt for the 16GB + 1TB model priced at CNY 10,999. Vivo has also announced a premium Black Gold Edition carrying a price tag of CNY 11,299.

At launch, the smartphone is limited to the Chinese market, and Vivo has not announced global availability.

Should buyers pay attention to the Vivo X Fold 6?

The Vivo X Fold 6 reflects how quickly foldable smartphones are evolving beyond experimental devices. Instead of focusing only on slimmer designs, manufacturers are now improving battery life, camera systems, durability, and performance at the same time.

Its combination of a 7,000mAh battery, flagship-grade Zeiss cameras, dual 120Hz AMOLED displays, and the new Dimensity 9500 Super chipset makes it one of the strongest foldable launches of 2026 on paper.

Whether Vivo expands availability beyond China remains to be seen. However, the Vivo X Fold 6 already raises expectations for what the next generation of premium foldables should deliver.
