Vivo has officially introduced the Vivo Y6a in China, adding a new budget smartphone to its Y-series portfolio. The Vivo Y6a focuses on battery life, durability, and everyday performance with a 7,200mAh battery, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor, and a 50-megapixel rear camera. The phone is already on sale in China and arrives just ahead of the company’s flagship Vivo X Fold 6 launch.
What Is New in the Vivo Y6a?
The Vivo Y6a features a 6.75-inch HD+ LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. The screen also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate, making scrolling and touch response smoother during daily use.
The handset ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6. Vivo has also included IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance, adding an extra layer of durability that remains uncommon in many phones within this category.
Power comes from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset built on a 4nm process. The processor is paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, and an Adreno 613 GPU. For security, users get a side-mounted fingerprint scanner alongside face unlock.
How Good Are the Camera and Battery?
The Vivo Y6a carries a single 50-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, an f/1.8 aperture, and up to 10x digital zoom. On the front, the device houses an 8-megapixel selfie camera inside a centered punch-hole cutout. Both cameras support video recording at up to 1080p resolution.
Battery capacity is one of the phone’s biggest highlights. Vivo has equipped the device with a 7,200mAh battery that supports 44W wired fast charging. The combination is designed to offer extended usage for streaming, gaming, and everyday tasks while reducing charging frequency.
Price and Availability
The Vivo Y6a is available in China in a single configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It is priced at CNY 1,999, which is roughly Rs. 28,000. Buyers can choose from Galaxy Silver, Obsidian Black, and Phoenix Welcomes Gold color options.
The smartphone also supports 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, QZSS, and includes an infrared blaster. It weighs 219g and measures 8.39mm thick.
With its large battery, modern chipset, and durable design, the Vivo Y6a strengthens Vivo’s budget smartphone lineup. Whether the Vivo Y6a launches in additional markets remains to be seen, but its combination of battery life and practical hardware makes it a notable addition to the company’s growing portfolio.
