Built for wildlife, travel and creators
Sony equips the RX10 V with a 1.0-type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor offering approximately 20.1 effective megapixels. The sensor works alongside Sony’s BIONZ XR image processor, which powers faster image processing and improved performance.
One of the camera’s biggest highlights is the built-in ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-600mm lens. The lens offers 25x optical zoom with an aperture range of f/2.4 to f/4.0, allowing users to capture landscapes, portraits, wildlife, sports, and distant subjects without changing lenses.
The camera also supports macro photography from as close as 3cm at the wide end.

Sony has integrated a dedicated AI processing unit into the RX10 V to improve autofocus accuracy.
The camera supports Real-time Recognition AF, which can automatically detect and track people, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and aircraft. Sony also includes human pose estimation and Auto Recognition modes for more reliable subject tracking.
Additionally, the Sony RX10 V offers 575 phase-detection autofocus points and can shoot blackout-free bursts at up to 30 frames per second with continuous autofocus and auto exposure.

For video creators, the Sony RX10 V supports 4K recording at up to 120fps, enabling up to 5x slow-motion playback.
Sony also includes professional video tools such as 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, S-Cinetone, S-Log3, Active Mode stabilization, custom LUT support, Auto Framing, Time-lapse, and Shot Mark for extracting still images from videos.
The camera also supports Sony’s Multi Interface Shoe for compatible digital microphones.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C (USB 3.2 Gen 2), HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Users can also connect the camera to Sony’s Creators’ App for wireless image transfers, remote shooting, and firmware updates.
Sony says the bundled NP-FZ100 battery can capture up to 630 still images on a single charge.
