Oppo has launched the Pad Mini in India, expanding its tablet portfolio with a compact flagship device. The tablet combines an 8.8-inch 2.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and an 8,000mAh battery.
The Oppo Pad Mini is priced at ₹94,999 for its sole configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. It comes in a single Lavender colour option and will be available through Flipkart and the Oppo online store from October 29.
A key highlight is its matte display finish, which Oppo claims reduces glare and delivers a paper-like writing experience with stylus feedback. This could appeal to users who want a compact tablet for reading, note-taking and creative work.
Oppo Pad Mini price in India and availability
The Oppo Pad Mini costs ₹94,999 in India. The tablet comes with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Oppo has announced a single Lavender finish. Sales are scheduled to begin on October 29 through Flipkart and the company’s online store.
At this price, the Pad Mini enters the premium tablet segment. Its compact dimensions, high-refresh-rate OLED screen and flagship processor are central to its positioning. Buyers should consider their intended use, particularly whether they need a smaller tablet for portability or a larger screen for productivity.
8.8-inch 2.5K OLED display with matte finish
The Oppo Pad Mini features an 8.8-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,680 pixels. It supports a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and a pixel density of 344ppi. Oppo also claims peak brightness of up to 1,600 nits.
The high refresh rate should make supported animations and scrolling appear smoother. OLED technology can deliver deep blacks and strong contrast, while the claimed brightness could help with visibility in brighter environments.
The matte finish is another notable feature. It is designed to reduce reflections, while the paper-like writing experience aims to make stylus input feel more natural. Actual glare reduction and writing feel will depend on lighting conditions and the compatible stylus.
The tablet runs ColorOS 16, based on Android 16.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset and cameras
The Oppo Pad Mini is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, clocked at up to 3.8GHz. It also includes an Adreno 829 GPU.
The hardware is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage in the Indian variant. The tablet supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth and USB Type-C connectivity.
For photography and video calls, the device has a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Its onboard sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, colour temperature sensor, e-compass, proximity sensor and Hall effect sensor.
8,000mAh battery and fast charging
The Oppo Pad Mini packs an 8,000mAh battery with support for 67W wired fast charging. This capacity could help support extended reading, streaming and productivity sessions, although actual battery life will depend on screen brightness, applications and connectivity.
The tablet measures 194.38 x 132.38 x 5.46mm and weighs approximately 282g. Its compact size and low weight could make it easier to carry than larger tablets.
The Oppo Pad Mini combines premium display hardware, a flagship-class chipset and a matte screen in a compact form. Its value will ultimately depend on how well the display, stylus experience, software and battery perform in everyday use.
