What’s New for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

One of the biggest additions is the improved experience for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Until now, WhatsApp users could mainly send messages and make calls while driving. With the latest update, they can also listen to incoming messages, reply using voice controls, check recent call history, and quickly access favorite contacts from their vehicle’s infotainment system.

The expanded integration is designed to reduce the need to handle a smartphone while driving and make communication more convenient through voice interactions.

iPad Users Can Finally Create a WhatsApp Account

WhatsApp is also removing one of the biggest limitations of its iPad app.

Previously, the iPad version worked only as a companion device linked to a smartphone. Users can now sign up directly from an iPad, allowing the tablet to function as a standalone device.

A phone number is still required during registration to receive the one-time verification code. Once the setup is complete, however, the iPad account operates independently instead of remaining connected to a primary smartphone.

The feature comes after months of requests from users following the launch of the dedicated iPad app last year.

Music Sharing Comes to WhatsApp Status

WhatsApp is adding a new way for users to express themselves.

The update lets people share songs directly from Apple Music or Spotify to their WhatsApp Status. Instead of manually creating screenshots or links, users can now publish the track they are listening to with just a few taps.

Meta says the feature is designed to make Status updates more personal while encouraging richer social sharing inside the app.

WhatsApp Continues to Add New Features

The latest update follows a series of major announcements made over the past few months.

Recently, WhatsApp introduced usernames, allowing people to connect without sharing their phone numbers. Meta has also launched WhatsApp Plus, a subscription service that adds premium features such as profile customization, advanced reactions, and enhanced Status insights.
