G-SHOCK is bringing its Japanese heritage and focus on toughness to New Delhi this weekend. Casio Computer Co. Ltd. will participate in the third edition of Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! 2026.
The two-day festival will take place on October 3 and 4 at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden. G-SHOCK will use the event to connect Japanese pop culture with its own watchmaking heritage.
The brand will create an immersive booth around its “Absolute Toughness” identity. It will combine manga-inspired storytelling, product showcases and interactive challenges.
Manga storytelling meets G-SHOCK’s toughness
The G-SHOCK booth will use manga frames to tell stories around the brand’s heritage. The setup will place G-SHOCK watches against familiar Indian backdrops and everyday situations.
The stories will focus on resilience, determination and grit. This approach also connects the brand’s Japanese identity with the energy of everyday life in India.
Moreover, visitors will get a closer look at G-SHOCK’s Japanese engineering. The display will feature iconic timepieces and limited-edition releases.
The booth will also showcase G-SHOCK’s new Sushi collection. The collection takes inspiration from sushi, one of Japan’s most recognisable culinary traditions.
Live tests put G-SHOCK toughness on display
A dedicated Manga Wall will serve as one of the main attractions. It will combine manga-style visuals with live demonstrations of the watches’ durability.
Visitors will be able to see Water, Shock and Mud Resistance Tests. These demonstrations aim to bring G-SHOCK’s toughness concept to life rather than simply explain it through product displays.
The format also fits the anime festival’s focus on visual storytelling and Japanese popular culture.
Create a manga avatar and take on the Hang Challenge
G-SHOCK will also give visitors opportunities to participate directly in the experience.
At the Manga Avatar & Personalisation Station, visitors can create their own manga-inspired avatar. They can then become part of a customised G-SHOCK-themed storyline.
For those looking for a physical challenge, the Hang Challenge will test participants’ strength and endurance. The best performers will earn a place on the daily leaderboard.
This adds a competitive element to the brand’s focus on toughness.
G-SHOCK looks to connect with younger audiences
Takuto Kimura, Managing Director, Casio India, said the brand has continued to evolve while staying connected to its core identity.
He also highlighted the growing connection between Japanese and Indian youth culture. According to Kimura, this creates an opportunity for G-SHOCK to connect with consumers who view watches as an extension of individuality.
The festival gives the brand a platform to bring together watches, anime-inspired creativity and Japanese culture. It also allows visitors to experience the products through demonstrations and activities.
Where to find the G-SHOCK experience
The G-SHOCK experience will be located in the East Zone Plaza at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden, New Delhi.
The activation will run throughout Mela! Mela! Anime Japan!! on October 3 and 4. It will combine product displays, manga storytelling, physical challenges and live demonstrations under the broader theme of G-SHOCK’s toughness.
