Wispr Flow has officially launched its AI-powered meeting notetaker for Mac, expanding beyond voice dictation into the growing AI productivity space. The new feature automatically transcribes meetings using system audio, generates summaries and action items, and lets users search across past conversations—all without requiring a meeting bot to join the call.
The launch puts Wispr Flow in direct competition with AI meeting assistants such as Granola, Otter, Fireflies, Read AI and Fathom.
No meeting bot required
Unlike many AI meeting assistants that join video calls as participants, Wispr Flow’s new notetaker captures system audio directly from the Mac. This allows users to generate meeting transcripts without inviting an AI bot into the conversation.
The company says users can view a live transcript during meetings and even ask the AI to quickly catch them up if they join late.
AI organises everything automatically
Beyond transcription, Wispr Flow automatically cleans up conversations into readable notes. It also generates summaries, action items, speaker attribution and meeting insights.
Users can search across previous meetings using AI, making it easier to revisit discussions and locate important decisions without manually scanning transcripts.
Expanding beyond voice dictation
Wispr Flow initially gained popularity as an AI-powered dictation app that converts speech into polished text. The new meeting assistant marks a major expansion of its platform by giving the AI access to richer meeting context.
The added context could eventually allow Wispr Flow to automate more workplace tasks beyond writing and dictation.
Competing in a crowded AI productivity market
The launch places Wispr Flow against established AI meeting tools including Granola, Fireflies, Read AI, Otter and Fathom, all of which offer automated note-taking and meeting summaries.
The startup has already raised more than $81 million in funding and was reportedly valued at $700 million in its previous funding round. Earlier this year, reports suggested the company was seeking fresh investment at a valuation of around $2 billion.
