Fireflies.ai has launched Talk, a voice dictation feature designed to make text input easier across everyday work applications. Instead of typing, users can speak directly into emails, Slack, documents, AI prompts and CRM fields.
The feature works alongside Fireflies.ai’s existing AI meeting tools, which record, summarise and help with follow-up tasks. Talk extends that voice-based workflow beyond meetings.
Fireflies.ai Talk Brings Voice Input Across Apps
Talk allows users to dictate text directly into the application they are using. A keyboard shortcut starts the feature, after which the spoken words appear at the cursor as text.
It can be used across email, Slack, documents, AI prompts and CRM fields on Mac and Windows.
Fireflies.ai has made Talk available across all its plans, including the free tier. This makes the feature accessible without requiring users to subscribe to a paid plan.
Supports More Than 100 Languages
Language support is another key part of Fireflies.ai Talk.
The feature supports more than 100 languages. This includes Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi and Sindhi.
Talk also automatically adds punctuation and cleans up the transcribed text. Therefore, users do not need to dictate commas, full stops or other punctuation while speaking.
This allows users to speak naturally while the system formats the resulting text.
Talk Can Handle Emails, Slack and AI Prompts
Fireflies.ai Talk is designed for different types of workplace writing.
Users can dictate emails, respond to Slack messages, add content to documents and enter prompts into AI tools.
The Slack integration has another useful feature. When users say the name of a teammate or group, Talk can turn it into the corresponding @mention.
As a result, users can create messages without switching between voice input and manual typing for names or mentions.
How Fireflies.ai Handles Voice Data
Fireflies.ai says dictations remain on the user’s device. However, the audio is sent for transcription.
The company says the completed text is not stored and is not used to train its AI models. It also says Talk meets SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA standards.
