Oppo has expanded its Reno 16 series with the new Reno 16t in China. The smartphone joins the standard Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro models.

The new handset brings a large battery and a high-resolution camera setup to the lineup. In addition, it offers up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The Oppo Reno 16t is currently available through Oppo’s China online store. The company has not announced details about an India launch in the supplied information.

Oppo Reno 16t Price and Availability

The Oppo Reno 16t starts at CNY 3,699, which is roughly Rs. 53,000.

This price applies to the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the top-end 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs CNY 4,499, or around Rs. 64,000.

The smartphone comes in three colour options. These include Galaxy Purple, Heartbeat and The Moonlit Night is Dark, translated from Chinese.

6.32-Inch AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

The Oppo Reno 16t features a 6.32-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display. It offers a 1,216 x 2,640-pixel resolution and supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.

Furthermore, the panel offers a 460ppi pixel density and covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut. It can display up to 1.07 billion colours.

The display also supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and can reach up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. Oppo claims a 93.4 percent screen-to-body ratio.

For durability, the phone carries IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super Powers the Phone

Under the hood, the Oppo Reno 16t uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super chipset.

The octa-core processor reaches a peak clock speed of 3.4GHz and works with an ARM G720 MC8 GPU.

The phone offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. However, the 12GB + 256GB variant uses LPDDR5 RAM.

For security, the Reno 16t includes an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. It also supports face unlock.

200MP Triple Rear Camera Setup

The camera system is one of the key features of the Oppo Reno 16t.

The phone gets a triple rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel primary sensor. The main camera has an f/1.8 aperture and optical image stabilisation.

Next, the setup includes a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/2.0 aperture and a 116-degree field of view.

A 50-megapixel telephoto camera completes the rear setup. It offers up to 3.5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom.

On the front, Oppo has added a 50-megapixel autofocus camera. The phone can also record video at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.

6,700mAh Battery With 80W Charging

The Oppo Reno 16t packs a 6,700mAh battery. It supports 80W wired fast charging.

For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 6. It also includes Bluetooth and a USB Type-C port.

The connectivity list further includes BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS and NavIC.

Additionally, the handset features an IR blaster. Other onboard sensors include an accelerometer, gyroscope, e-compass, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and colour temperature sensor.

The Oppo Reno 16t measures 151.21 x 72.42 x 8.36mm and weighs around 191 grams.
