Vivo Y600 Turbo is now official in China, and the smartphone is already drawing attention for one reason above everything else — its massive 9,000mAh battery. The new mid-range phone also brings a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, a bright AMOLED display, Android 16-based software, and 90W fast charging support.
The launch signals a growing trend in the smartphone market. Brands are no longer chasing slim designs alone. Instead, battery endurance is becoming a major selling point, especially for users who stream videos, play games, and spend long hours online.
What Makes the Vivo Y600 Turbo Stand Out?
The biggest talking point around the Vivo Y600 Turbo is clearly its battery size. A 9,000mAh battery is still rare in mainstream smartphones. Most mid-range devices today ship with batteries between 5,000mAh and 6,000mAh.
Vivo appears to be targeting users who want longer screen time without carrying a power bank. The company has also paired the battery with 90W wired fast charging. That combination could appeal to gamers, travelers, and heavy social media users.
At the same time, Vivo has managed to keep the phone relatively slim for its battery size. The device measures 8.29mm in thickness and weighs 215 grams.
How Powerful Is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 Chip?
The Vivo Y600 Turbo runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. The chipset targets upper mid-range smartphones and focuses on balanced performance, efficiency, and AI-driven tasks.
Vivo pairs the processor with up to 12GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 512GB UFS 3.1 storage. That setup should help with multitasking, app loading speeds, and gaming performance.
The phone also includes the Adreno 810 GPU for graphics processing. While Vivo has not positioned the device as a gaming phone, the hardware suggests it can comfortably handle demanding games and everyday workloads.
The smartphone ships with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box. That makes it one of the early devices launching with Android 16 software.
Why Is the Display Getting Attention?
Vivo has equipped the Y600 Turbo with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display carrying a 1.5K resolution of 1260×2800 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should deliver smoother scrolling and animations.
The screen also reaches up to 5,000 nits peak brightness. That number stands out because brightness has become another major competition area among smartphone brands.
In addition, the display includes SGS Low Blue Light certification and TÜV Rheinland Flicker-Free certification. These features are designed to reduce eye strain during extended usage.
The phone also offers a 94.47 percent screen-to-body ratio, helping deliver a more immersive viewing experience.
What Cameras Does the Vivo Y600 Turbo Offer?
The Vivo Y600 Turbo uses a dual rear camera setup. The main sensor is a 50-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture. Vivo has also added a 2-megapixel depth sensor for portrait shots.
On the front, the phone carries an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture.
The camera setup suggests Vivo is focusing more on battery and performance than flagship-level photography. Still, the 50-megapixel primary sensor should handle standard photography needs, including social media uploads and casual videos.
Does the Vivo Y600 Turbo Support Water Resistance?
Yes, the Vivo Y600 Turbo comes with both IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance. That is significant because such protection levels are slowly becoming common outside premium flagship phones.
The device also includes several connectivity features, including 5G, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C. Vivo has added an in-display optical fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
Other onboard sensors include a gyroscope, infrared remote control, ambient light sensor, and accelerometer.
