Sony has launched the Xperia 10 VIII in select global markets. The new mid-range smartphone brings a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. It also features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and optical image stabilisation.
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII runs Android 16. In addition, Sony promises up to four OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The phone comes in Frosted Gray, Frozen White and Misty Lilac colour options.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII Price and Availability
Sony has priced the Xperia 10 VIII at EUR 549 (roughly Rs. 62,000). The company will sell the smartphone in select global markets later this year through its online store.
However, Sony has not yet revealed details about an India launch.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII Specifications and Features
The Sony Xperia 10 VIII sports a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1,080×2,340 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 120Hz touch sampling rate. It also offers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display.
Under the hood, the smartphone uses an octa-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Additionally, Sony offers 6GB of virtual RAM expansion, while users can add up to 2TB of storage through a microSD card.
The Xperia 10 VIII also carries IP65 and IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII Cameras
For photography, the Xperia 10 VIII features a dual rear camera setup. The 50-megapixel f/1.9 primary camera uses a 1/1.56-inch Exmor RS sensor and supports optical image stabilisation. It also offers a 24mm focal length and an 84-degree field of view.
Meanwhile, the phone pairs the main camera with a 13-megapixel f/2.4 ultrawide camera. This sensor offers a 123-degree field of view.
For selfies and video calls, Sony has added an 8-megapixel f/2.0 front camera. The camera uses a 1/4-inch sensor and offers a 26mm focal length and a 78-degree field of view.
Sony Xperia 10 VIII Battery and Connectivity
The Xperia 10 VIII packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports wired fast charging. Therefore, the phone combines a relatively compact design with a sizeable battery capacity.
For connectivity, the handset supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4. It also includes a USB Type-C port, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS. Sony has retained a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
Finally, the Xperia 10 VIII measures 153x72x8.3mm and weighs approximately 168 grams.
