Poco has expanded its X8 lineup in India with two new smartphones. The company has launched the Poco X8 Power and Poco X8, adding them to the recently introduced Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max.

The new models focus heavily on battery life while also offering high-resolution AMOLED displays, 50-megapixel cameras and Snapdragon chipsets.

The Poco X8 Power stands out with its massive 10,000mAh battery. Meanwhile, the standard Poco X8 packs a 9,000mAh cell.

Poco X8 Power, Poco X8 Price in India

The Poco X8 starts at Rs. 29,999 in India. The Poco X8 Power, meanwhile, starts at Rs. 35,999.

Poco is also offering launch benefits. A Rs. 2,000 coupon discount and an additional Rs. 1,000 exchange bonus can bring the effective starting prices down to Rs. 26,999 for the Poco X8 and Rs. 32,999 for the Poco X8 Power.

Both phones will go on sale from September 11 via Flipkart.

The Poco X8 Power will be available in Black and Yellow. The standard Poco X8 comes in Black, Fiery Orange and Frost White.

1.5K AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

Both smartphones feature the same 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,280×2,772 pixels.

The panels support refresh rates of up to 120Hz. They also offer HDR10+, Dolby Vision and up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness.

In addition, Poco has included up to 3,200Hz instantaneous touch sampling, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut and TUV Triple Eye Protection certification.

The displays also support Wet Touch 2.0 and use Corning Gorilla Victus 2 for protection.

For durability, both phones carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Snapdragon Chips Power the New Poco Phones

Under the hood, the Poco X8 Power uses Qualcomm’s 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. The chip reaches clock speeds of up to 2.6GHz and pairs with an Adreno GPU.

The phone comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

The Poco X8 uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, with a peak clock speed of up to 2.4GHz. It also features an Adreno GPU, although its RAM uses the older LPDDR4x standard.

Both phones run Android 16-based HyperOS 3. Poco promises four OS upgrades and six years of security updates.

50MP Camera With OIS

Photography is another common feature between the two phones. Both carry a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).

However, the secondary cameras differ.

The Poco X8 Power gets an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera alongside the main sensor. It also features a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies.

The Poco X8 instead gets a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

10,000mAh Battery Is the Big Highlight

Battery life is the biggest difference between the two models.

The Poco X8 Power packs a 10,000mAh battery and supports 100W wired fast charging. It also supports 27W wired reverse charging, allowing users to charge compatible devices from the phone.

The Poco X8 gets a slightly smaller but still substantial 9,000mAh battery. It supports 67W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging.

Both phones also feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.

In terms of size, the Poco X8 measures 163.45×78.27×8.6mm and weighs around 226 grams. The Poco X8 Power measures 163.44×78.27×8.65mm and weighs approximately 229 grams.

Poco X8 Power vs Poco X8: What’s Different?

The two phones share several features, but the Power model offers a clear hardware advantage.

For buyers who prioritise battery life and faster charging, the Poco X8 Power looks like the more compelling option. The standard Poco X8, however, offers a lower starting price while retaining the large battery and 1.5K AMOLED display.

Both phones will be available in India from September 11 on Flipkart.
