The premium smartphone market has reached a point where manufacturers must offer more than faster processors. Buyers now expect excellent cameras, dependable battery life and genuinely useful software. Oppo seems to understand this shift with its latest flagship. The Find X10 Pro Max brings together ambitious camera hardware and powerful internal specifications. Its biggest talking point is a triple-200MP rear camera system. However, the phone also promises impressive performance and exceptional battery endurance. Starting at Rs. 1,99,999, it enters an extremely competitive flagship segment. That price also raises an important question about its overall value. After spending time with the device, I believe Oppo has delivered plenty. However, not every feature makes an equally strong case for the asking price.
Design: Premium without being unnecessarily flashy
Oppo has taken a relatively restrained approach to the design. The phone comes in Titanium Grey and Lumos White finishes. My review unit is the Titanium Grey variant. It looks sophisticated without attracting unnecessary attention. The White variant gets a textured glass finish. However, my unit misses that texture and Hasselblad branding.
Interestingly, the design reminds me of the Find X9 Pro. However, the Find X9 Ultra takes a much bolder approach. Its massive circular camera island makes its photography credentials immediately obvious. Oppo has taken a more understated route with the Find X10 Pro Max. The separate camera and flash modules give it a cleaner appearance. Personally, I prefer this more restrained approach, although the Ultra has a stronger visual identity.
At 235g, this is certainly not a lightweight smartphone. Its 161.32mm height and 76.57mm width also make one-handed operation difficult. Fortunately, the weight distribution feels balanced. The metal frame and flat edges provide a reassuring grip. However, the separate camera and flash modules make the upper section slightly top-heavy.
The customisable Snap Key sits on the left edge. It provides quick access to functions like the flashlight and recorder. Oppo also includes IP66, IP68 and IP69 protection. This is reassuring for an expensive flagship. Overall, the design prioritises refinement over experimentation.
Display: Excellent for entertainment and gaming
The 6.78-inch AMOLED display is among the phone’s strongest features. It offers a 2772 x 1272-pixel resolution and adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. Supported games can push the refresh rate to 144Hz. Consequently, scrolling, animations and gameplay feel consistently smooth.
The panel supports 10-bit colour, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. This makes watching films and streaming content particularly enjoyable. Brightness reaches 2,000 nits in high-brightness mode. Additionally, 3,840Hz PWM dimming helps manage screen flicker.
However, the Find X9 Ultra offers a sharper resolution. Most users probably won’t notice this difference during everyday use. Nevertheless, it is worth considering when comparing two expensive flagships.
Performance: Power without unnecessary heating
A powerful processor means little if the everyday experience doesn’t match its promise. Thankfully, the Find X10 Pro Max gets most things right. It runs Android 17 with ColorOS 17, which gives the phone a smooth and responsive interface. Moving between applications feels effortless, while animations remain fluid. The interface also offers plenty of customisation without making navigation complicated. However, Oppo still needs to address the unnecessary pre-installed applications. A cleaner experience would feel more appropriate on a phone this expensive.
The hardware behind this experience is equally capable. The Dimensity 9600 Pro powers the device, paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. In practical terms, this combination leaves very little room for complaints. Whether I was switching between multiple applications, editing photographs or playing demanding games, the phone handled everything comfortably.
The benchmark results make for an interesting comparison, though. The phone recorded 4,224,761 points on AnTuTu, putting it ahead of the Find X9 Ultra’s 3,950,984. However, Geekbench tells a slightly different story. The older Ultra posted stronger single-core and multi-core results. Its GPU score was also higher. This suggests that the X10 Pro Max’s impressive overall benchmark result doesn’t automatically translate into an outright victory across every performance category.
What matters more is how the phone behaves outside benchmark applications. During my testing, demanding games ran smoothly, and I didn’t encounter uncomfortable heating during extended sessions. The combination of a capable processor and high-refresh-rate display also makes gaming particularly enjoyable.
My takeaway is that the Find X10 Pro Max delivers the performance expected from a premium flagship. However, its biggest achievement isn’t chasing benchmark records. It is maintaining a consistently smooth experience across everyday activities. Oppo has got the hardware and optimisation largely right. Now, it needs to give the software the same attention.
Camera: The biggest reason to consider this flagship
The camera system is where Oppo makes its strongest argument. The phone features three 200MP rear cameras and a 50MP front camera. These include the main, ultrawide and telephoto sensors. The telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom. Hasselblad tuning and Oppo’s LUMO processing further support image quality.
The main camera captures detailed photographs with impressive dynamic range. Colours look rich without appearing excessively processed. Importantly, highlights and shadows retain good balance. The ultrawide camera also preserves impressive detail across photographs.
Low-light photography deserves particular attention. Images remain bright without losing the atmosphere of the scene. Noise stays controlled, while details remain reasonably sharp. This makes the camera useful beyond well-lit daytime photography.
The telephoto camera particularly impressed me with portrait photography. Its 3x optical zoom creates natural-looking background separation. Subject edges remain clean, while background blur looks pleasing. The results offer a convincing alternative to conventional portrait photography.
The 50MP selfie camera also delivers detailed photographs. Skin tones look balanced, and portrait separation remains pleasing. Oppo’s AI photography assistant adds convenience by identifying promising frames. It can also adjust camera settings automatically.
However, there is one important distinction for photography enthusiasts. The Find X9 Ultra retains a dedicated 10x optical camera. Therefore, it offers greater reach when photographing distant subjects. The X10 Pro Max instead prioritises a versatile three-camera experience. Neither approach is necessarily better for every photographer.
Battery: A genuine advantage
The 8,000mAh silicon-carbon battery changes the everyday experience. With moderate usage, the phone comfortably lasts two days. Photography, navigation, gaming and video streaming also feel less restrictive.
Oppo includes 80W SUPERVOOC wired charging. It also supports 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging. Together, these features make battery management considerably easier. The large battery is not simply another specification. It addresses one of the biggest concerns among heavy smartphone users.
Verdict: Who should actually buy it?
The Oppo Find X10 Pro Max is a compelling flagship. Its biggest strengths include camera versatility, battery endurance and consistent performance. The display also delivers an excellent entertainment experience. However, its Rs. 1,99,999 price demands careful consideration.
The pre-installed bloatware needs attention. Its large dimensions and considerable weight may also discourage some buyers. Furthermore, the Find X9 Ultra retains an advantage for long-distance optical photography.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max and Google Pixel 11 Pro XL offer different flagship experiences. Apple’s ecosystem remains attractive to existing iPhone users. Meanwhile, Google’s computational photography and AI features appeal to another audience.
Oppo takes a different route with ambitious camera hardware and battery capacity. If photography versatility and endurance matter most, this phone deserves serious consideration. However, buyers seeking a lighter device or cleaner software might prefer alternatives.
My takeaway is simple. The Find X10 Pro Max is not an automatic recommendation for everyone. It makes the strongest case for people who actively use their smartphone cameras. Its exceptional battery also benefits demanding users. At this price, though, buyers should know exactly what they value before making the investment.
