Lava Storm Play and Storm Lite Debut in India

Indian smartphone brand Lava has introduced two new budget phones — Storm Play and Storm Lite — for the Indian market. Starting at ₹7,999, these phones come with Android 15, a 50MP Sony camera, and a 120Hz display. The Storm Play will be available on Amazon from June 19, while the Storm Lite will go on sale from June 24.

Both Phones Run Android 15 and Will Get One Upgrade

Lava ships both smartphones with Android 15 out of the box. Moreover, users will get one Android upgrade and two years of security updates. This long-term software support sets these phones apart in the budget segment.

Bigger Display and Better Protection

Both Storm Play and Storm Lite feature a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Lava has also ensured IP64-rated dust and splash resistance, which makes them more reliable in everyday use.

Storm Play Offers Stronger Performance

Storm Play uses the MediaTek Dimensity 7060 chipset. It pairs this with 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage. This combination results in fast app loading and efficient multitasking. Additionally, it packs a 5,000 mAh battery and includes an 18W Type-C charger in the box.

50MP Sony Camera in Both Models

Lava has equipped the Storm Play with a 50MP Sony IMX752 primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. On the front, it features an 8MP selfie camera. In contrast, the Storm Lite offers a similar 50MP Sony sensor at the rear and a 5MP front camera.

Storm Lite Keeps It Simple Yet Capable

The Storm Lite runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor. It comes with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage. Despite being more affordable, it still offers the same 6.75-inch display and 5,000 mAh battery, though with a 15W charger included.

Built for Indian Users

Lava designed the Storm series with Indian users in mind. These are not rebranded imports. The company developed them locally and tested them with over 300 Indian recipes. They also built the surfaces to withstand daily use — even with metal spatulas in the kitchen.

Pricing and Availability

The Storm Play is priced at ₹9,999 and will be sold on Amazon from June 19.
The Storm Lite will launch at ₹7,999 and go on sale from June 24.
