Honor X7e Plus 5G has officially launched in select global markets, expanding the company’s X-series lineup with a smartphone that focuses on battery life, AI-powered software features, and durability. Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, the device combines an 8,100mAh battery, Android 16-based MagicOS 10, and multiple AI tools in a package aimed at mainstream smartphone buyers.

The latest launch also reflects a broader industry trend, with smartphone makers increasingly bringing AI capabilities and larger batteries to affordable and mid-range devices instead of limiting them to premium flagships.

What Does the Honor X7e Plus 5G Offer?

The Honor X7e Plus 5G is designed around three major upgrades: battery endurance, AI-powered productivity, and everyday durability.

At the center of the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor paired with up to 8GB of RAM and as much as 256GB of onboard storage. The chipset is coupled with the Adreno 613 GPU, targeting users who want balanced performance for daily tasks, multimedia consumption, and casual gaming.

Running on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16, the smartphone also introduces several software enhancements that rely on artificial intelligence.

AI Features Move Beyond Premium Smartphones

One of the standout additions is a dedicated side AI button that allows users to instantly launch selected apps or commands with a single press.

Honor has also bundled several AI-powered features into the device. These include AI Memory for organizing information, AI Summary for quickly extracting key points from content, AI Eraser for removing unwanted objects from photos, and Google’s Circle to Search feature for searching anything visible on the screen.

The inclusion of these tools shows how AI is steadily becoming a standard smartphone feature across different price segments rather than remaining exclusive to flagship devices.

A Massive 8,100mAh Battery Takes Center Stage

Perhaps the biggest talking point of the Honor X7e Plus 5G is its enormous 8,100mAh battery.

Large batteries have become increasingly important as users spend more time streaming videos, attending video meetings, gaming, and using AI-powered applications throughout the day.

Honor has paired the battery with 45W wired fast charging, allowing users to recharge the device more quickly when needed. While the company has not disclosed official battery life figures, the capacity is significantly larger than what is typically seen in smartphones within this segment.

Display and Camera Specifications

The Honor X7e Plus 5G sports a 6.87-inch HD+ TFT LCD display with a resolution of 720 × 1,592 pixels and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

According to Honor, the screen supports up to 1,020 nits of peak brightness in High Brightness Mode. The display also includes Eye Comfort and Dynamic Dimming technologies that are designed to reduce eye strain during extended usage.

For photography, the smartphone features a 50-megapixel primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, accompanied by an auxiliary sensor. On the front, users get another 50-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls, making it one of the notable specifications in this category.

Built for Durability and Everyday Connectivity

Honor has also emphasized durability with the X7e Plus 5G.

The smartphone carries IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, indicating protection against dust ingress and resistance to water under demanding conditions. These ratings are still relatively uncommon in this segment and could appeal to users looking for a more rugged smartphone.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, USB Type-C, OTG, and support for multiple satellite navigation systems, including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou.

Security is handled through a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, while onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor.

Price and Availability

The Honor X7e Plus 5G has launched in select global markets, including Qatar.

The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at QAR 999 (approximately Rs. 26,000), while the 8GB RAM + 256GB model costs QAR 1,099 (roughly Rs. 29,000).

Buyers can choose from Desert Gold, Velvet Black, and Meteor Silver color options. Honor has not announced availability for the Indian market at the time of writing.

Why This Launch Matters

Smartphone competition in the mid-range segment is increasingly shifting beyond raw processing power. Manufacturers are now focusing on larger batteries, AI-powered software experiences, improved durability, and longer software support to attract buyers.

The Honor X7e Plus 5G reflects this shift by combining a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor, an unusually large 8,100mAh battery, Android 16, and practical AI tools in one device. Whether these features help the smartphone stand out in more global markets remains to be seen, but its specification sheet signals where affordable smartphones are heading next.
