Google has launched the Fitbit Air in India, bringing its first screenless fitness tracker to the market. The wearable focuses on health and fitness tracking without adding a display or constant notifications.

The Fitbit Air was first introduced in select global markets in May. Google says the screenless design is intended to reduce distractions while allowing users to wear the tracker throughout the day.

Google Fitbit Air Price and Availability in India

The Google Fitbit Air is priced at Rs. 13,999 in India. It will go on sale from October 2.

The tracker will be available in Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog colour options.

Customers can get Rs. 1,000 cashback with select HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cards. Google is also offering up to 12 months of no-cost EMI options.

The Fitbit Air will be sold through the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and other authorised retailers.

Google is also bundling a three-month trial of Google Health Premium. This provides access to Google Health Coach tools and features.

Screenless Design Focuses on Health Tracking

The Fitbit Air does not have a screen. Instead, users rely on the Fitbit ecosystem and connected devices to access their tracked information.

The approach removes notifications and other distractions that typically come with smartwatches and screen-equipped fitness trackers.

Google says the tracker is designed to be worn throughout the day. In India, it will be offered with a Performance Loop band.

Heart Rate and SpO2 Tracking

The Fitbit Air provides round-the-clock heart rate tracking. It also supports heart rhythm tracking and AFib alerts.

The wearable includes an SpO2 sensor for blood oxygen monitoring. It can also track resting heart rate and heart rate variability.

For sleep tracking, the Fitbit Air monitors sleep stages and sleep duration. It can also automatically detect and track activities.

Users can manually add workouts when required.

Google Health Coach Comes Built In

The Fitbit Air also works with Google Health Coach. The feature provides guided workouts and other fitness-focused tools.

This gives the tracker a broader focus beyond basic activity tracking. Users can combine workout guidance with the health and sleep information collected by the wearable.

Google is offering three months of Google Health Premium with the Fitbit Air in India.

Up to Seven Days of Battery Life

Google claims the Fitbit Air can last up to a week on a single charge.

The tracker also supports fast charging. According to Google, five minutes of charging can provide enough power for up to one full day of use.

This could be particularly useful for a screenless tracker designed for continuous health and sleep monitoring.

Fitbit Air Was Earlier Launched Globally

The Fitbit Air debuted in select global markets on May 8 at $99.99, roughly Rs. 9,500 at the time.

Internationally, Google offers the tracker with different interchangeable band options, including the Performance Loop Band, Active Band and Elevated Modern Band.

The India launch brings the screenless Fitbit experience to the country at Rs. 13,999, with four colour options and a Performance Loop band.
