Apple has refreshed its home entertainment lineup with two devices designed to work together. The new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 bring updated processors, smarter voice controls and connected-home features.
The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K focuses on streaming, content discovery and gaming. Meanwhile, the HomePod mini 2 combines a compact speaker design with upgraded audio processing and smart home controls.
Both devices also support Apple’s new Siri AI experience. This could make voice commands more useful for finding entertainment and controlling compatible accessories.
Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 prices in India
The Apple TV 4K (4th Generation) is priced at ₹39,900 in India. It will go on sale on November 13.
The HomePod mini 2 costs ₹18,900 and will be available from October 30. Apple is offering the speaker in five colours: Pink, Green, Blue, White and Midnight.
The two products serve different purposes, although they can work together. Apple TV 4K handles television streaming and entertainment, while HomePod mini 2 serves as a wireless speaker and smart home hub.
Apple TV 4K gets the A19 chip and Siri AI
The new Apple TV 4K runs on Apple’s A19 chip. According to the company, it delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance compared with its predecessor.
It also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder for more efficient video streaming. However, Apple has not specified how these improvements translate into performance across individual streaming apps.
The upgraded Siri AI experience is another major addition. Users can ask Siri to discover films and television shows, receive recommendations and get conversational responses. They can also ask follow-up questions about the content they are watching. Siri displays answers in a compact overlay.
For hands-free interaction, the device includes three built-in far-field microphones. Its updated remote also supports Find My and Precision Finding, making it easier to locate a misplaced remote.
Apple TV 4K supports gaming, fitness and video calls
The new streaming device supports Apple Fitness+, Apple Arcade and FaceTime through Continuity Camera. It also offers personalised photo screensavers.
Audio is another part of Apple’s connected entertainment setup. Users can pair the Apple TV 4K with up to four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) speakers for a surround sound system.
This setup could appeal to users who want a multi-speaker home theatre experience without a traditional receiver and separate speaker package. Actual results will depend on room layout and speaker placement.
HomePod mini 2 brings upgraded audio and S10 chip
The HomePod mini 2 is powered by Apple’s S10 chip. Apple says its computational audio technology optimises sound in real time, while 360-degree audio aims to deliver a more immersive listening experience.
Users can operate the speaker individually, pair two units for stereo sound or connect multiple speakers across rooms. This gives households more flexibility when setting up music playback around the home.
The speaker also supports Siri AI and can control compatible smart home accessories. When paired with the new Apple TV 4K, it can become part of a broader entertainment and home automation setup.
What the new Apple devices mean for connected homes
Apple is positioning the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 as complementary parts of its home ecosystem. The television device brings streaming, gaming and content discovery, while the speaker adds music playback and voice-controlled home features.
Siri AI could make this combination more convenient, particularly for users who regularly rely on Apple’s services and devices. Still, the experience will depend on the assistant’s capabilities and the availability of compatible smart home accessories.
At ₹39,900, the Apple TV 4K sits in the premium streaming device segment. The ₹18,900 HomePod mini 2 offers a separate entry point into Apple’s connected-home ecosystem. Buyers should consider their existing devices and intended use before investing in either product.
