  • Apple will host its Pro and Tell event in Los Angeles on October 28.
  • The event is scheduled for 10am PT, or 10:30pm IST.

Apple has announced its next launch event, scheduled for October 28 in Los Angeles. Called “Pro and Tell”, the event could bring several hardware updates, including a major change to the MacBook lineup.

Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, announced the event on social media. The media invitation confirms an in-person event at 10am Pacific Time, which translates to 10:30pm IST.

Apple has not disclosed the products it plans to unveil. However, reports suggest the event could introduce the company’s first touchscreen MacBook alongside refreshed MacBook Pro, iMac and iPad Mini models.

Apple Pro and Tell event: Date and time

The Pro and Tell event will take place on October 28 in Los Angeles. The invitation describes it as a special Apple experience for attending media and creators.

The event poster features a multicoloured Apple logo against a dark background. Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman suggested that the animation, which shows a finger touching the screen to draw the logo, could hint at Apple’s next product category.

The touchscreen reference has fuelled speculation about a MacBook with touch input. Apple has yet to confirm this interpretation or reveal the event’s full agenda.

The event also marks Apple’s third launch event in two months, following its Surprise and Shine event for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro series, and its Welcome Home event for the HomeView and HomePod Mini.

First touchscreen MacBook could debut

Apple is reportedly preparing a MacBook with a touchscreen, potentially marking a significant change to its laptop lineup. The rumoured model could feature a tandem OLED display.

The technology would represent a display upgrade for the MacBook range. However, Apple has not confirmed the laptop’s specifications, screen size, pricing or availability.

The company is also expected to refresh its MacBook Pro lineup. Reports suggest the new models could feature Apple’s M6 processor. A 14-inch MacBook Pro with an OLED display is also rumoured, although the final product configuration remains unclear.

If these reports prove accurate, the event could bring changes to both MacBook performance and display technology. Buyers should wait for Apple’s announcement before treating these specifications as final.

New iMac and OLED iPad Mini also expected

The rumoured launch lineup could extend beyond MacBooks. Apple is reportedly preparing an updated iMac powered by the M6 processor.

A refreshed iPad Mini is also expected, with reports pointing to an OLED display upgrade. Apple has not confirmed either device or shared details about their specifications.

The possible OLED upgrades across the MacBook Pro and iPad Mini could make display technology a key theme of the event. However, the touchscreen MacBook remains one of the most closely watched rumours.

Reports suggest the new devices could go on sale in select global markets on November 6. This date has not been confirmed by Apple.

For now, October 28 is the confirmed event date, while the product lineup remains speculative. Apple’s announcement should clarify whether the company is ready to bring touchscreen input to the MacBook and introduce new display options across its devices.
