Xiaomi AI Glasses Debut With 2K Camera and Voice-Only Controls
Xiaomi’s smart glasses rival Ray-Ban Meta with camera, voice control, and more
Xiaomi has officially unveiled its new AI Glasses at a major event in China. The smart wearable combines sleek design with AI-powered features and is seen as Xiaomi’s take on the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses.
Record in 2K Without Using Your Hands
These glasses allow users to record 2K videos at 30fps with just their voice. Since the glasses don’t have a display, Xiaomi built an interface that works entirely through voice commands.
To make navigation easier, Xiaomi added a touch-sensitive zone on the right temple. This lets users quickly perform tasks like activating the voice assistant or starting a video.
Slim, Light, and Packed With Features
Weighing just 40 grams, the AI Glasses feel light and easy to wear. Xiaomi equipped them with a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera, allowing users to take first-person photos, record videos, and even livestream on the go.
For audio, the device includes five microphones with bone conduction and wind noise reduction. It also features dual speakers to play audio and voice responses clearly.
Xiaomi offers options for prescription lenses as well as electrochromic lenses that adjust automatically to lighting conditions.
Built for Power and Endurance
To power these features, Xiaomi used Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 chip. The glasses run on the company’s own Vela OS, which is built for AI-powered wearable devices.
Thanks to its 263mAh battery, the glasses can last up to 8 hours and 36 minutes. That’s nearly twice the runtime of Ray-Ban Meta, making them suitable for extended use.
Moreover, users can charge the glasses through a USB-C port, which means they don’t need to carry a charging case.
Price, Colors, and Availability
Xiaomi offers the AI Glasses in Black, Brown, and Green. The glasses are available in China for CNY 1,999, which is around $278 (₹23,000).
However, Xiaomi has not yet shared details about international availability.
With this launch, Xiaomi continues expanding its AI-powered hardware portfolio. These smart glasses could mark a big step toward making wearable tech more practical and accessible.
