Nothing Gallery 2.0 Update Adds Built-In Editors
Nothing has started rolling out the Gallery 2.0 update for its stock photo app, introducing in-app editing features for photos and videos. The update is now live on the Google Play Store and is compatible with Nothing and CMF phones running Nothing OS 3.0.
Native Editing Tools for Photos and Videos
In a post on X, Carl Pei confirmed that Nothing Gallery now supports built-in editing features, addressing a long-missing capability in the app. With this update, users can now:
- Crop and rotate photos
- Adjust colours with up to 12 tuning parameters
- Use 10 exclusive Nothing-designed filters with intensity controls
- Trim videos, adjust volume, and tweak slow-motion playback
These tools make Nothing Gallery 2.0 comparable to Google Photos or Samsung Gallery in terms of basic editing functionality.
Better Stability and Cleaner Experience
Beyond editing, the update also focuses on performance stability, delivering a smoother experience overall. It eliminates the need for third-party photo apps, giving users a seamless way to manage and edit their content within the default Gallery app.
Rollout Details and Device Support
The update is available now and is being rolled out via the Google Play Store. Users can manually update the app by visiting the store. All Nothing and CMF smartphones running Nothing OS 3.0 are eligible for this update.
Nothing Phone 3 Launch Around the Corner
This update comes just weeks before the launch of the Nothing Phone 3, the company’s upcoming premium device. Pei’s announcement hints at a focus on camera capabilities, and having a robust Gallery app is a step towards competing with high-end Android offerings.
With editing now built into the Gallery, Nothing ensures users get a complete camera-to-editing pipeline without leaving the native app.
