Motorola Brings Affordable Stylus Smartphone to India
Motorola has introduced the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus in India at an effective starting price of ₹21,999. This price includes a ₹1,000 discount for Axis and IDFC Bank credit card users. The phone will go on sale from April 23 via Flipkart.
What makes this launch interesting is that the Edge 60 Stylus is one of the most affordable smartphones in India with an integrated stylus. Until now, stylus-equipped phones were mostly limited to the premium segment. Motorola is now offering this experience in the mid-range category.
AI Meets Stylus: A New Twist on Creativity
One of the biggest highlights of the Edge 60 Stylus is its built-in generative AI tools. Motorola has packed features like AI Magic Canvas that can transform rough sketches into images. This is especially useful for those who like to take digital notes, doodle, or quickly design ideas on the go.
It also offers AI Style Sync, which adapts the phone’s look based on your outfit or style — a quirky, but fun use of AI.
While these tools are impressive, they’re not groundbreaking. The Magic Canvas feature, though fun, may not always deliver precise results. But for casual users, it adds a new layer of creativity.
Display and Design: Built for Everyday Use
The Edge 60 Stylus features a 6.7-inch pOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen looks vibrant and supports stylus input, which works smoothly for writing or sketching.
The phone has an IP68 rating, making it water and dust resistant. It can survive up to 1.5 meters underwater for 30 minutes, which is a big plus for this price segment.
However, the design, while solid, doesn’t break new ground. It looks clean but not very premium. The stylus is integrated, but it doesn’t offer pressure sensitivity like some high-end models.
Performance and Software: Smooth, but Not a Powerhouse
Under the hood, the Edge 60 Stylus is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. This setup is good for daily tasks and moderate multitasking.
What stands out is that the phone comes with Android 15 out of the box, layered with Motorola’s Hello UI. The user interface is clean and close to stock Android, which is great for those who prefer a bloat-free experience.
Still, heavy gamers and power users might find the processor slightly limiting for high-end performance.
Cameras and Audio: Balanced, with Room for More
Motorola has added a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front-facing camera. Photos are clear in daylight, and the selfie camera does a decent job too.
However, low-light performance isn’t its strongest area. Night shots may lack detail, and the ultra-wide camera could use more clarity.
The stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos offer immersive audio, and both face unlock and an in-display fingerprint sensor work reliably.
Battery and Charging: Fast and Reliable
The phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery, which easily lasts a full day. With 68W fast charging, it powers up quickly, adding convenience to daily use.
For those who need more space, the phone allows microSD card expansion up to 1TB — a feature that’s becoming rare even in higher-end phones.
A Promising Mid-Range Option with Unique Flair
The Motorola Edge 60 Stylus brings stylus functionality and AI creativity tools to the mid-range space, which is quite rare. At ₹21,999, it offers good value, especially for students, professionals, and creators who want a stylus without spending a fortune.
While it’s not a Galaxy S25 Ultra alternative in terms of raw power, it makes stylus phones more accessible. Some compromises exist in the camera and processor departments, but Motorola’s effort to bring fresh features at a budget price deserves credit.
