Poco is bringing its next-generation X-series smartphones to India, with the Poco X8 5G and Poco X8 Power 5G confirmed to launch on September 4. The company has already teased some of the key features of the two phones, with battery capacity emerging as one of the biggest highlights.
The two smartphones will be launched at 12pm IST and are confirmed to be sold through Flipkart.
Poco X8 Power 5G Gets a 10,000mAh Battery
The Poco X8 Power 5G is shaping up to be the more battery-focused model of the two. Poco has confirmed that the phone will feature a 10,000mAh battery, which the company claims can deliver up to 3.5 days of playback time.
The battery will support 100W wired charging and 27W wired reverse charging, allowing the phone to also power other devices. Both upcoming models will support bypass charging, PPS charging and smart charging, while Poco is giving the batteries a claimed six-year battery life rating.
Poco X8 5G Could Also Pack a Huge Battery
The standard Poco X8 5G won’t be far behind when it comes to battery capacity. The phone is teased to feature a 9,000mAh battery, with Poco claiming up to 3.2 days of battery life on a single charge.
It will support 67W charging and 22.5W reverse charging, making the battery one of the phone’s major selling points as well.
Expected Specifications
While Poco has not confirmed the complete specifications, leaks suggest that both smartphones could feature 6.83-inch AMOLED displays.
The Poco X8 Power 5G is expected to get a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and could be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. It is also tipped to feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
For cameras, the X8 Power 5G is rumoured to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS, an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The standard Poco X8 5G is expected to use a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset and could feature a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with up to 3,500 nits brightness. Its camera setup may include a 50-megapixel rear camera and a 16-megapixel front camera.
Both models are also likely to offer IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K-rated protection, while Poco may provide four Android OS updates and six years of security updates.
Design and Availability
Poco’s teasers have also given a glimpse at the design. The Poco X8 5G is shown in orange and white shades, with a vertically arranged dual-camera setup. The X8 Power 5G appears in a yellow finish with a black, squircle-shaped camera module housing two camera sensors.
The two phones are expected to sit below the Poco X8 Pro in the Indian lineup. More details, including their pricing and complete specifications, should be revealed around the launch.
