Jio has launched the JioTag 2 in India, bringing support for both Google’s Find Hub and Apple’s Find My networks in a single tracker. Priced at Rs. 1,249, the new Bluetooth tracker lets Android and iPhone users locate everyday items such as keys, wallets, bags and luggage without needing a SIM card or subscription plan.

The JioTag 2 succeeds the original JioTag launched in 2023 and introduces cross-platform compatibility, a replaceable battery that lasts up to a year, and community-based location tracking.

The JioTag 2 is priced at Rs. 1,249 and is available in Black, Green and Red colour options.

Cross-platform support is the biggest upgrade

The biggest highlight of the JioTag 2 is its support for both Android and iOS ecosystems. Users can pair the tracker with Google’s Find Hub on Android smartphones or Apple’s Find My service on iPhones and iPads.

Once connected, users can track belongings such as keys, luggage, wallets and backpacks directly through their phone’s native tracking app.

The tracker uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) for nearby tracking. When an item is within Bluetooth range, users can activate the built-in 120dB buzzer to locate it quickly.

If the tagged item moves out of range, nearby Android and Apple devices anonymously update its location through the Find Hub and Find My community networks. The tracker also supports Lost Mode to improve the chances of recovering misplaced belongings.

Unlike GPS trackers, the JioTag 2 does not require a SIM card, cellular connectivity or monthly subscription. Instead, it relies on Google’s and Apple’s crowdsourced tracking networks to provide semi-real-time location updates.

One-year battery life and IP64 durability

Jio says the JioTag 2 runs on a replaceable battery that can last for up to one year. The company also includes an additional battery in the retail box, eliminating the need to recharge the tracker.

The device features an IP64-rated body for dust and splash resistance. It has a polycarbonate build with an integrated mounting hole, making it easy to attach to keyrings, bags or other personal belongings.

With support for both major mobile ecosystems, the JioTag 2 positions itself as a practical and affordable tracking accessory for users who own Android or Apple devices.
